Hello Akshay,
Please check few things:-
1. Check the samba logs /var/log/samba/log.nmbd
2. How you are adding the user to smabpasswd . (i use sambpasswd -a user)
pls check it.
3. If samba has to work only a file server within you LAN security is not
much of an issue then look for NOTE ABOUT
Check for the netbios name entry.
Change it from netbios name = whatever to netbios = whatever
take off the name keyword, which is desupported in newer versions.
