i would like to add few more points while designing a NAS solution
1.writing of data on to HDD should be fast enough, at time when you are
mounting central storage on multiple server the concurrent NFS operation
makes it very difficult and the write on the box slows down e.g netapp uses

You can use NFS3 as NFS2 has locking issues while multiple clients accessing

Hi,
The main problem with NFS is that it doesn't have common way to add users &
manage disk quota.
I have tried for hosting automation but it has not worked. And according to
Psoft have to use NetApp ( http://www.netapp.com ) for this.

Has anyone been able to do a fresh install of any distribution on a
desktop with the above mentioned SATA RAID card ?
As of now FC4 installer says no hard disk found even if I force it to
load the sata_promise kernel module. It is quite possible the kernel
version with that installer was not aware
Hello Abhay,
I am using router based VSNL Broadband from past 4 months and it is really
awesome. It has a nice speed and 99% uptime.
The router works well with FC4, no need of any software or anything for it.
I will suggest you to go for it :)

Approaching the problem in a different way, I created a rule to move
