[ilugd] Firefox problem

2007-11-29 Thread Puneet Lakhina
Hi,

I am able to get my firefox 2.0.10 to crash, if I carry out a certain
sequence of steps which I have documented here
http://sahyog.blogspot.com/2007/11/firefox-20010-crashing.html
If anybody can provide any clues as to why this happening, Im all ears.

i know what you can do to resolve this issue.. its really simple and easy..

just remove windows vista from your pc, and install a fresh new GNU/Linux
based OS...!!
once you do this, you will feel really relieved and firefox will work even
better..

'data' as the file type from the above command, your life might not be
  easy :-( .

Yep. I get fle type data. Pointers?

In the end solution was most trivial. Just make a executable with the
following two lines:

#!/bin/bash
lpr $1

Now associate this with action to be performed whenever faced with a
file extension .rrpp The file is actually a digital image of what
should go to a dot matrix printer.

I have both on my PC. I posted this message here as I believe Firefox
qualifies as FOSS, even on Windows, Moreover I dont think statements
 like these help anybody.

Hmm.

Most likely it's something to do with some addons you might have. If
you are using BetterGmail addon, then disable it, test the issue,
install BetterGmail2, then try again.

And then consider Sahil's suggestion once again.

On the other hand if the original poster is facing issues with

  OS. This is
of course a choice if he wants to stick with Vista.

afaik firefox on doze is far superior to firefox on linux or on mac,
because doze is their primary target

  In what ways?

I have been using both regularly since v1 but haven't noticed any
differences in responsiveness or functionality (other than
Tools-Options vs. Edit-Preferences ;-)

Dear Friends,

I have a running Samba Server on OpenSuse 10.3. On the client side i am
accessing these samba share by using: nautilus -- File -- Connect to server.
After filling the information in the dialog boxes i am able to access the
shared files and folder. The share name is visible in the one side of the pane.
What when i am trying to attach a file to my e-mails reside on samba server
