Did you sort your iMac problem?
It came to my notice lately - I have a similar problem.
The advice to replace the PRAM battery is the right advice!
You can open the trap door with a coin (after switching off and laying the
iMac on its face) and c
arefully extract the little battery you ca
ill power on.

The Hard drive is not the issue. If it was, the iMac would still power on. It
just wouldn't boot past a blinking file folder with a question mark. Best of

Try removing the battery. A dying battery an cause a G3 iMac to not power on.
Yet a dead or missing battery isn't a problem.

I am new to the group, and happy to find others with older imac's.
I have a G3 and it no longer will power up. This has been coming on for a
while,as it was more& more difficult over the past several weeks to get it
powered up. Now, it won't power up at all, just a split second of ligh
