Hi,
After a night running MessageSniffer, it looks quite different. MessageSniffer
is really able to catch those silly image-only ad's. It also trapped other
mails, which are not blacklisted or covered by invURIBL.
btw, the trial version behaves like the regular one. The signature database is
(sent again, as it never seems to show up on the
list...)
After using the test database for months with good success,
we purchased a messageSniffer one-year license, and then ended up switching to a
BSD-based mail system, totally away from Windows/iMail.
During our time on Windows/iMail,

Hello All,
We are currently using a Barracuda Spam Firewall 400 and are having more and
more junk mails somehow ignoring that our MX points to that firewall and
then they send directly to our Imail server along with a Exchange server we
are running.
Has anyone found a way to stop this? We
Thanks Adam. I was told by a bellsouth to email their postmaster account

Thanks!

Agreed, it is the same as having to force SMTP AUTH a few years back.
It was a PITA for a few weeks, but has saved us so many headaches since.

Interesting situation.
If all the junk mail is flowing straight to your iMail server externally you
could just block outside access in to the mailserver @ port 25. This leaves
the only true path _through_ your Barracuda device. The internal users stay
unchanged, accessing the local mailserver

As has been said before-the reason you are seeing these automated responses
is because the list server is not adding the Precedence: list or Precedence:

One small detail I left out - we don't run Imail on our 2 backup servers, so
with this method Imail is not visible to the outside world. Traffic
directed to our Imail server on Port 25 gets redirected to the Barracuda.
Every single inbound email gets processed by the barracuda prior to delivery
Traffic directed to our Imail server on Port 25 gets redirected to
the Barracuda.
Every bit of it is illegit (internet direct to IP, bypassing MX), and
often exceeds the volume of legit mail, so running it through Imail
is very inefficient.

Hi Tripp,
When do you estimate that will be done? It would help immensely. While any
single OOF message doesn't take much to delete, they certainly add up to a
lot of wasted time.

The reason I say they are not operating is because you can no longer
download the confirm.cfg file from the declude site. It is just a busted
link. Declude won't acknowledge one way or another.
