2018-11-11 Thread Dinesh Valke
Yes, Nidhan ji, I could see no fully opened flowers. I think about 5 - 10
minutes later I would have seen them.
The first picture, at right bottom has one flower slightly opened. All
parts of this plant seems to have only one colour, only differing in shades
!!!

Tapas ji, you must be correct about introduced species - this
tree is planted in premises of Rajasthan Forest Department's
 tourist post
at Guda Bishnoiyan ... an important lake where migratory birds
 make a
 stopover.
Mahadeswara ji, thank you for the bark characteristics; I do
not know why - I had the feeling that all of trunk, branches of
 *A.
 leucophloea* are of silver grey.

I will correct my notes in flickr to very simply Acacia sp. -
because at present I do not have photos with required aspects.
Here is one cropped version, if at all it gives any hint to
 Tapas ji ...

 make a

Re: [efloraofindia:310219] The second one

2018-11-11 Thread Tapas Chakrabarty
I think yes, *Senegalia mellifera. *Only difference the flowers were white
rather than yellow.
I have seen this growing in the garden at Institute of Forest Genetics and
Tree Breeding, Coimbatore. They also have herbarium specimen of the same.
They said that this was recently introduced from Sudan.
There is nice representation in the eFI website.
