I can add: Naturalized and/or invasive in many places in temperate zone:
almost whole Europe, spreading in western and eastern Nortt America, also
in Asia (Siberia, Japan), found in Mexico. Recently cultivated in Chile and
N Australia. Personally I saw it planted and spontaneous in
Unfortunately, I have no knowledge of East African flora.
I am able to recognize I. sodenii as this is commonly cultivated plant in
warmer regions.
I never seen it personally, only on pictures :-(.
