Firstly, may I offer my appreciation to the Cyrus team for an excellent system.
I have been experimenting with Cyrus IMAPD since version 2.0.6, and am now
preparing to deploy version 2.0.12 on RedHat Linux 7 as our faculty mail server,
for approximately 1500 users.
My question is: Should I create

I am having the strangest problem with "sasldb" authentication using

I can create and delete user accounts with "saslpasswd" and they
display appropriately with "sasldblistusers". But these accounts will

Cyrus IMAP 2.0.12:
Function become_cyrus(void) call only setuid() without setgid().
'master' proces working ex. with UID=100 but GID is still 0.
Feature or bug?

Kinda had the same problem, chmod 660 on the /etc/sasldb file. If this
works, look at your permission/user/group.

Subject: imtest segfaulting,
If I start the IMAP- Server in the start- skript via "startproc
/usr/cyrus/bin/master" I have the same problems. If I start the server
with "startproc -u root /usr/cyrus/bin/master" it works fine.
The difference is, that the start-/ stop- skripts run with the uid root,
but not with all the gids

In outlook express you need to set the root mailbox to INBOX (all caps).
I forget exactely where it is in the dialog boxes, but it should be
there somewhere.
That worked for me :)

Hi,
Cyrus-imap 2.0.12
Postfix 20010228

Postfix and cyrus work together with LMTP.
I use sieve without homedirectory.
When i create my sieve script with vacation, it's just work one time. If
i want to reactive it, i must change the vacation's reason.
Any idea ??

I figured it out. Sometimes you have to beat your head against a wall
for a while before you see the obvious, or slightly obvious.
The BerkeleyDB installed most (if not everything) into
/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.../
directories. I linked a few files that Cyrus was looking for, and it

Hello,
I think I have install cyrus-imapd-2.0.12 successfully. I can deliver
email and retrieve email from an imap clients very well. My problem is when
a message is delivered to an non-existant user, deliver ( lmtp) always
returns "data format error".
In looking at the deliver.c, the last
