For a very good justification of using saslauthd going forward, see the
thread in this mailing list on signaled to death by 11. Some of us are
trying to get Cyrus to authenticate against LDAP. In this case, it is
necessary for cyrus to act as an SASL client to LDAP as well as an SASL
server. It

Hi list,
We're running a ~100.000 users free webmail service, based on cyrus and ldap.
Recently, some of our users started complaining that they can't see their subfolders
anymore. I found the .sub files and also found this from the doc/server-design file:
* User directory:
The subdirectory

For some reason we have not had any performance problems, especially
after upgrading to 2.0.16. Our config is described at
http://asg.web.cmu.edu/cyrus/config.html.
We consistently saw over 3000 imapds during the summer and now we are
typically seeing around 5500 imapds. (This also doesn't count

Hi Patrick,
I have seen the same behavior on my server.
I did a global mailbox reconstruct and it seemed to go away.
Hope that helps!

Good Afternoon!
Have any of you seen cyrus db writes doing anything odd to disk blocks?
I have replaced a drive where the errors where on the cyrus partition.
Might just be coincidence, but this is exactly where my quota db's got corrupted.
Chicken and the egg!

We have about 11000 users on our mailserver and the server seems to be
running out of resources ie. it seems to slow down when a lot of users
(ie. 500-1000 imapd process are running in the system) are simultaneously
reading their mail.
The current system consists of:
- Sendmail 8.11.6

Guten Tag Rehuel Lobato de Mesquita,
I recommend trying this :
http://asg.web.cmu.edu/archive/message.php?mailbox=archive.info-cyrus&msg=10179 .
it helped me to cyrus working on a slackware system.

can anyone please help me
I have tried to contact the list for a week now, in vain. I really need help
on an issue.
I run slackware 8 on my box. I installed Cyrus IMAP using the instructions
