Folks:
I wanted to point out the short introductory video that shows off what InterMapper
Flows will do. It's at:

Does anyone know what the default path is in the CLI probes?

Feature Request: Display hostnames instead of IP addresses in the exporters
list. Most of us with large networks probably find it easier to identify our
routers and switches by name than by number.

Actually, we dont name our routers and switches here. I find it much
easier to tell where something is based on its IP. The 3rd octet tells me
of the subnet, and the 4th tells me what the device actually is. I'd
imagine that you'd find both schools of thought. Not quite sure what
Can someone point me to a doc on how to do this upgrade, or should I just
install the new DataCenter, and Intermapper, and hope for the best? I'm
guessing I need to create a database, as the database server I'd like to
use is on another box.
I can't remember if I'm supposed to upgrade IMDC
Jon,
You should backup your InterMapper Settings folder prior to performing the
upgrade. You can then download InterMapper 5.0.4 and run the upgrade. If you
are upgrading an InterMapper installation on OS X or Windows, it is a
double-click installer that will upgrade your existing installation.
Hi Karthik,
Thanks for the note. Yes, we have a test version available now. The attached note
gives the details for downloading/installing it.
Please get back to me if you have further questions.

Thanks a lot Richard. I will set it up for testing in our environment. This
will be really useful for us.

Hi Jon,
In the initial release of the InterMapper database (5.0), only Postgres SQL
is supported. However, we will be adding support for additional SQL database
engines in future releases. I believe MySQL is on this list.

Janice,
If I'm not on the list of requestors, please add me to it.

I'd like to 2nd that as well! While not necessarily a deal-breaker, I have some
routers/switches that have 60+ ports, with multiple VLANs on those ports.
Looking up traffic by ifIndex is a pain!

At risk of going slightly off topic just to agree with you... ;)
My opinion (and experience) is that systematic use of host names is a
level of sophistication - which is not to say it's rocket science -
that many network managers (of networks both large and small) never
achieve. Of
I think I am already on the list, but if not please add me.
We have hundreds of maps, and this is a real pain for us.
