I guess this is the write place to ask.
I am working on to setup a fencing using IPMI which is supported in my
mother board. I have assigned the ip address to the ipmi , but I am
not able to ping the interface.
If i do:
ipmitool chassis status , it works but if i do

hine.

I have used the following steps to assign IP address and turn on the
interface in my dell poweredge 1850 machines.
ipmitool lan set 1 ipsrc static
ipmitool lan set 1 ipaddr 10.10.10.1
ipmitool lan set 1 netmask 255.255.255.0
ipmitool lan set 1 arp respond on
ipmitool lan set 1 arp ge
