Gangue,
I noticed this morning, that since WHO 1040 went IBOC, I can detect their
signal from 1020.56 to 1058.63 edge to edge.
I am in Boone about 40 miles north of them. I say about, as I don't go to Des
Moines much, and thus I am not exactly sure where their antennas are.

I believe that their antenna is close to Mitchellville (a bit east of
DM) and that it's visible from I80. - John S,

John is correct. I just looked at the FCC website,
which shows WHO's antennas are at Mitchellville. I
also looked at Mapquest and saw that they are about
1/2 mile south of I-80 at the S-27 exit.
I drove through there 4 times in 1996 and undoubtedly
have seen it.

Jim,
I have not used the Select-A-Tenna products. I bought the CC twin ferrite
antenna for our trip to England-France a few years ago and it worked well. The
nice thing about it is that it antenna can be 50' away from the tuning unit.
Used it at Westport this week and it worked well on TP
Bert,
The problem he has, I believe is that the E1 does not have a ferrite
rod. The SAT works best with a ferrite.

One thing you have to be careful with on the coast are pieces of

build on them, or if you can, you are really restricted on the size of a
