no clicking and I would guess about 10 wpm. Dave Williams can copy morse
code, so maybe I should run it over to him, but it sounds like code to

Is it possible that the signal was somehow distorted
in its relatively lengthy route to your radios on the
west coast, and that the speed of the code seemed
different? The time of this test was possibly optimum
for the west coast. Every report I've seen of
DXpeditions on the northern east coast

I talked to Dave Williams (local HAM DXer) and we both listened to my
recording. It is rough to copy with all of the talking from KKOH WBBM,
but we heard .__ ?? , so W??H, so it looks like I did hear the
test alright., but the AK were like 13 2 I think. Not the best cx. I

HAM Radio operators QSL that poorly? Wow. No wonder getting a QSL out of
some CEs that are HAMs is not any easier. It looks like HAM radio is

wrong for a station employee to paint all DXers with the same brush. It's
probably a situation where the person didn't want to be bothered and latched
onto a convenient excuse to opt out of the QSL game.

Apparently 1490 Yreka CA is now IBOC as I can hear the hash on 1500 at
night. Three of the Jefferson Public Radio stations on AM are IBOC,
950-Roseburg OR, 1230-Talant (Medford) ad 1490 Yreka. But the small
amount of IBOC power 1490 has sure gets out.
