Dxed a 1/4 mile South of yesterdays location. About 100' above the beach on
the highway. A fast pace 55 minutes of TP dxing. This dxing from a level above
the beach is great, thanks Gary for discovering this method of dxing. Probably

Auction netted about $150.
Lots of DX discussions.
Tomorrow at 10 AM, some of the folks will take a tour of Tillamook.
I will be driving back to Seattle about mid-day... pretty tired right
I'm glad that you had a good time! I hope that it was an all-around boost for

Hi Dennis,
Wow, that's quite a collection of Ultralight TP's with your E100 and Space
Magnet Loop! I'm happy that you had so much fun chasing TP's on an Oregon
cliff above the Pacific, and the cliff certainly seems to have given your
ULR DXing station a huge boost in TP reception (like

They were on when I woke up at 7:30 am EDT. Not positive if they are off
overnight, or earlier. But worth checking...

918 is very likely to be Shandong (China). If you hang around the channel a
while, you will hear them ID in English as News Radio. At Grayland, the
Korean has always been much weaker than China.
1188: this should be FEBC from Seoul (Republic Of Korea), not DPR.
That's a nice list

Chinese on 1593 is definitely Changzhou. If you recorded over the hour and had
any audio at all, you should be able to hear the standard theme music of China
National Radio even if you can not understand the ID.

Thanks for the information on 918 Shandong, China. This roadside pullout was

Hello All,
The Asian regulars had no trouble showing up here this morning, but
second-tier TP audio was rare at best. On a second day of fairly average

I'm hearing it here in Seattle with CKWX phased down. No ID yet but
definite Spanish at 17:32 local time. It's fair at best and mostly has
a weakish signal, but sunset isn't for another couple of hours.

Some so-so moments where it seems like things will break open, then fades

the minus side just below audio thresholds. Sat on a few channels like 972

It was in very strong here at 1910 local, presumably just before power
change, with La Mexicana, with CKWX only lightly phased. Now at 2000
local, not a sign of them, so the 490 watts is doing about as poorly as
expected. Ah well, a new station is a new station! Plus, this indicates

Oh my, this may explain the Spanish mx I had for a couple minutes around 1920

favorable pattern for skip towards the east and north east with 25 kw days. CX

KPWX is very audible under CKWX tonight off the SW EWE. Their 490w even
in a null seems to be doing well.
