TP signals weren't as good here this morning as yesterday. Local sunrise was
at 1259 UTC.
693 JOAB Tokyo J, 1254, weak JJ audio //JOIB 747. Audio faded out 1313.
702 unID (possibly Chongjin KRE), 1155, carrier (het). Raspy carrier at 1232
with QRM from KHSE 700. Signal faded out at 1259.
Listened from 1305-1355 utc and conditions was down from yesterday. All

Audio was heard from: 279-Russia, 594-JOAK, 693-JOAB, 747-JOIB, 774-JOUB and

Very interesting! Rarely heard WGR-550 has been loud here also lately. I
thought it was only because WDDZ-RI is silent but now I wonder, like Steve, if
they are running the day rig at night.

Another interesting morningI don't think signals lasted as long today;
there was a bit of a grinding to a halt at around 1520UT, and I didn't stick
around to see if there was anything more. I'd heard enough by then!
I'm not sure signals were quite as strong this morning, at least on the

A pretty good morning here. TOH recorder made the switchover to Pacific
Standard Time by making all the recordings 1 hour later than desired so only
the first three were useful. Lots of hets just below audio threshold noted,
many on unusual freq's. Report is only for those stn's heard in
1476 I think is what I was hearing also Tom. Do you just hear the 4
pips (odd for China, but that's what it seems to be), or do you hear
another set of pips offset by a fraction of a second?
Thanks.

Regarding 1476 KHz at 1500Z;
Nick,
I just listened again and it seems to be just four pips of equal tone. There
was a man just prior to the pips and a YL after and it sounded Chinese (not the
standard guangbo dientai phrase though.)

At Grayland recently I definitely heard 2 sets of pips almost a second apart.
One surely had 4 pips and I think the other also had 4. Both then had the same
Beijing time check (er shi er). I couldn't dig out the ID as conditions were
lousy.

I didn't know WGR operated with a different night time pattern from the
daytime one. When I lived in Toronto in the late 70s when their format was
oldies they did not switch from day to night as there was no noticable change
in signal strength or interuption in the switch from day to night.Bill

The TP signals were a no show this morning at Monte Sano, with only a
few terribly weak carriers noted. A stark contrast from the amazing TP
conditions we experienced Saturday morning.

Farda is delivering occasional audio on 1575, Middle Eastern style singing at
0120UT. 1215 just a weak carrier, but a better carrier on 1539...off I go on
a bandscan.
best wishes,

Hello Guys,
Sorry for the time error on the 1575-Farda reception, which was actually at
0203, not 0103 (Daylight Saving mistake).
The station didn't stick around in audio very long here, fading deeply
after the recording. No other TA big guns have made an appearance here
tonight, either
Of course, other things to do this evening, but stopping by the receiver from
time to time has yielded audio traces on 1269, 1422 (not at the same time; I've
had them parallel in the past), 855 w/murky talk and a bit of a hum. 999 w/

not so sure about 999...Moldova isn't listed on yet, and what I hear seems to
have a couple of guys talking back to back, similar to the COPE webstream, but
nothing to hang my hat onto.
Audio traces buried by splash on 963 and 675...
best wishes,

I didn't have a lot of time this evening either, but did note audio on
1575,1377,1269,1215, 1089 (mix of UK and Russia), 999, 963, 684, and
675. The audio has tended to be very fleeting, with only 1215 and 963
have had any consistency. One of the better TA evenings this season,

04:42 now, and I'm hearing 999 with fair audio, but suffering from 1000

transmitted this early. My (old) EMWG doesn't have them on until 04:30
UTC. 1269 there at times with snippets. Presumably Spain or the Canary
Hi Nigel, Nick and Walt,
Having learned the hard way last year that dead-sounding TA's have a
tendency to resurrect themselves, I stuck around to see if some Europeans would
come in after 1575-Radio Farda's healthy fade-in.
Sure enough, 1377 (presumed France) produced some poor audio
