Nice conditions and surprising catches on the AM dial! You can follow the
ongoing AIH29 DXpedition in the Finnish Lapland for 11 more days at

Sorry, it's only the old 540 Windsor now on 1550 using the former CBE
facilities - not as exotic as you'd hoped! Jim Renfrew

They frequently do well, even dominate, down here in St. Louis. Always atop a
jumble.
A far cry from the old days when, after CBE went off at 1 AM Eastern, you could
hear bits and pieces of classical music many nights from KKHI, practically the
only thing on the channel (San Francisco).
These guys get out well. I have an e-qsl from them from WI a few years ago.
Nice catch and I expect others can get them. 73 KAZ

Good morning,
Two stations with audio in the 1600 utc hour. Best being HLAZ 1566 with a
steady weak signal. The Palstar MW 550P tuner really helps these poor to weak
signals produce some audio,

Hello All,
There was somewhat of an improvement in Asian signal strength here this
morning, although it seemed to benefit the Asian mainland stations at the
expense of the Japanese big guns. Despite the improvement the Korean and
Chinese signals still didn't quite reach the levels of
Paul is correct. Current NRC Log has:
1550 CBEF Windsor ON U3 1 1000
FF:VAR-Cf-NSP--La Premiere Chaine 1550 AM/103.1 FM
I guess they moved from 540 to 1550 to fill the gap created by CBE's move to FM.

The
1640 WQDY411 Strongsville OH listed at 10w. Coming in with a mix of
TIS-HAR-NOAAs and enabled by the WI Disney's absence. Hearing 440-238-5530
number which checks to the local chamber of commerce, and others. Seems to have
a TIS and public service slant, as opposed to weather or highway info.
TAs are moderate. Hets seemed strong before sunset, but didn't evolve into too
much. Had a carrier on 1215.06 or thereabouts.
1000 in Instant Parma OH and 1510 ESPD in WI seem on late. Go get 'em. Pests
here.
840 NE, 940 IA among IDed catches, a few more need some web checks.
Nothing too

Nothing to report from my location in Victoria, BC this morning. Found a
fault in my West Corner fed loop in the 16:1 matching transformer. The
outer (coax braid) had come off, and the result was a dead TP band, though
Nick's DX Fishbarrel had decent conditions. All back to normal now.
Mostly top tier, and erratic, but there were a few odd ones in
sifting through the recordings. Also, peak strengths were better
than yesterday. As Dennis noted, some like JOUB and HLAZ hung
around late, though here, not much later than 1540UT, per the recording.
pretty darn good audio
