The
DXers in NE and MN have reported KMLB Louisiana at night, possibly running 4KW
daytime power - or at least something awry there providing us with a DX
opportunity.
That may be in part because WKFN TN (ESPN) is now running its proper night-time
pattern and power. I notified them something was
Not quite as bad as yesterday, but still pretty bad

Today was not as bad as yesterday, but not by much. A handful of
stations produced something resembling audio.

I'm hoping one of the more experienced antenna builders can offer some
advice. I live in a deed restricted community that does not allow for
outdoor radio antennas of any kind. They also forbid things like
flagpoles, etc.
Over the course of six years, I've been able to bend these rules a bit
I'm sure Kaz himself will weigh in here, Les, but the original
version of the Kaz that I recall was 10' high with a 40' vertical
section. John Bryant wrote it up, and found that it didn't have
quite enough signal output for his tastes, but that was in the days
before the FLG100 amplifier
Nick -
I bet you meant 10' high with a 40' horizontal section.
My personal opinion: a 10 x 40 delta is OK for normal domestic DX where
directivity is more important than hearing a very weak solitary signal on an
empty channel.

I know with the EWE antennas, the higher the vertical element the better. My
old SW EWE has 25' elements and it has always worked great. The NE EWE has 16
foot elements and does not have near the gain, but that is all I can do to the
NE.
