Thanks for the heads up Don. I never bothered to check to night as the previous
two were a complete bust. Even power house KSL was barely above the noise
floor. Some domestic frequencies were even devoid of carriers.

0145 ELT 9/11 using the slogan "Classic Rock 105" &, of course, playing classic

They have an FM translator on 104.9 which should be the only thing on now.

Another DU morning in southern Alberta, with several reaching audio,
and a lot more not quite making it:
774 unIDTraces of man talking at 1223
819 unID Woman talking at 1229. Would have been a decent signal if not
for the 820 splatter.
828 unIDMan speaking at 1233
1035
All DU yet again, with 4QR ending things on a high note. I'm not
sure they would appreciate the comparison with the fat lady singing,
but they have had a pretty portly signal just around sunrise the last
few mornings. Beforehand though, the DX was a bit harder to gather,

You northerners keep snaffling up the TA's before they get any

Looking for a little variety after several mornings of 4QR banging in, hi.

Not even anything in southern Alberta now Walt, even the 1377 carrier is
very feeble. In the other direction though, Tahiti is putting in
it's best level I've had this year, now at 0430.

Had a recording going thru the TOH.. Add 1116 1125 1305 to the previously
mentioned, just past 0405 ut. Particularly good 1341 with BBC news,
1577 in French and 1089 Sports. And regulars 1377 1422 1215 also exc.

Didn't check until 0345 here, and no audio noted after that. 1377 has
had a decent carrier at times, with 1215 and 1422 also in there, but
much weaker.

Well, Colin, I don't know if anyone in Canada has tracked this down (maybe
Walt, at Rose Spit on Haida Gwaai?), but if not, you probably have as good a
chance as anyone of doing so.
Your new Flag antenna definitely seems to be up to the task of chasing exotic

Funny! I was thinking just that -- Fiji was not exactly a nightly visitor to
our waterfront Kona condo in the 2010's...
Interestingly, in 1996, reception from all over the Pacific and Asia was mind
boggling in Kona.
What's changed are conditions and noise levels.

Hello All,
Since the revitalized 558-Fiji doesn't seem to have any confirmed MW parallels
these distinctive and vibrant 2+1 time pips showing up at 20 seconds into the
recording at 1300 on 8-10 (at the Rockwork 4 ocean cliff) may be helpful for
Perseus-SDR DXers trying to dig out TOH clues

Hi Guys:
I am trying to record the Top of the Hour ID Slots from Sunset to Sunrise on
the AM BCB each evening. Conditions are improving each night and last night
seemed to be quite good. I am about 1/2 way through the Recordings from last
night and have found these interesting catches so far…

Darn, I had the alarm set for 12:45 UTC, but either the alarm failed to go

coming in at good levels. I'll look forward to hearing what others have

Hello All,
The current solar tantrum continued to wipe out any audio from Asia, with even
more force than yesterday. A weak carrier on 594 around 1245 was the only sign
of Asian life, but it soon fizzled with the increasing daylight. Even
738-Tahiti failed to register any type of heterodyne.
