No report yesterday - I accidentally made my recording with the MW
filter turned on, resulting in as much as 50db attenuation at the low
end of the band. Judging from Nick's report, I didn't miss much.
Today's DX, even with no attenuation, wasn't much better. There were a

At 2020 CST Wednesday 3/8 I am hearing WSYW 810 Indianapolis IN, a 250-watt
daytimer obviously on late. Format is SS:MEX. For whatever reason, WGY is
completely absent here (it doesn't seem to be an auroral evening).

Les,
Thank you very much for your generous comments about Satoshi's reception of
630-4QN in Japan, and also about the FSL-enhanced PL-380 model. The Japanese do
have somewhat of an advantage in transoceanic DXing because almost all of them
live within an hour's train ride of an ocean beach.
Ken,
Yes, I have been DXing nearly 54 years. I started in Seward AK in 1962. Then I
got into QSLing in 1965. I have came down from AK in 1967 (18) and continued
here. I moved to the Portland area for a few years (76-79), then moved back and
continued here. I just turned 67 a few days back.
Pat
KAZ,
I just came from looking and yes I have the room for a Super KAZ, but the
Eastern leg of the Super KAZ will come down right next to the Eastern Beverage
at an angle. What to do about it? The Eastern Bev probably has electrically
connected with the SW EWE which runs 20 feet from the Bev.

Hi Patrick,
You knowyour name and Seaside seem familiar to me. You've been there

How close to the Bev? Elevated Bevs definitely couple signal to nearby
wires etc. 73 KAZ

Welcome Ken. AZ has been getting more and more DXers through the years. I live
in Oregon and except for myself, there are none than are active on MW any
longer. WA has a lot, especially in the Puget Sound. I live North of Seaside on
the coast where I have logged many TPs and DUs through the year
I'll have to see how high I have for the middle tree. I know at least 30+ feet,
maybe more. Today once again is rainy & windy. Raising the bottom lean on the
Super KAZ 7-8 feet will make it closer to the beverage and I do not know if it
would affect that. On the ground, it wouldn't. I know the E

Hi All,
I just joined this group yesterday and wanted to introduce myself. I was
pleased to see the IRCA is still alive and well. For several years back in
the 80s I was a regular print subscriber and would send in reports from
Hawaii.
My interest in MW DX'ing goes way, way back to my youth day
Wow! Solid copy too. It must be nice to live on an island and have
opportunities to do a lot of international DXing on MW. Here in Alabama, TA’s
are rare. Course, Satoshi would probably enjoy having thousands of domestics to
chase.
Congratulations to Satoshi, and to Gary for the excellent desi
