Well, I'll have to take Bruce's word for much of this morning. I
have a local intermittent noise source that decided to un-intermit
overnight, right through to 1405UT this morning. It ruins the
western Flag (20 dB increase in noise level around 1100kHz is the
worst, but it mostly takes out

Hi Mark,
Re the different sizes of DKaz, and Kaz' comment
on heights: With the 200 footer, would anything
be gained from pushing the aspect ratio closer to
that of the smaller DKaz? (i.e. higher
supports). Not sure about the practical details

It was a tale of two bands today. The low band was mediocre when the
SDR recording started at 1229 and went downhill from there. The high
band TPs, on the other hand, didn't show up until 1330, and rode the
crest of a nice enhancement 1335-1350. The most exciting catch was on
1377, possibly

I will be building a 10-20 foot box loop in May or June and will have it
mounted up on a 10 foot pole and will use it by the banks of the hopefully

Yes, Japanese as well as Koreans were all over the dial there. As far North as
you are you should see plenty of TA activity in the Winter too. I got several
during the day in the Winter in Seward with a portable and a longwire.

I logged a new station this morning, 3/26/16.
WNDZ, 750 kHz, Portage! Indiana (15 kW @ 1058 km/658 mi) was heard at 1159-1206
UTC. Station signed on at 1159 with woman saying "Good morning, this is WNDZ,
Portage, Indiana", followed by a man speaking Spanish at 1200. The signal

Have you figured out what 1584 might be? Although I haven't been very

Thanks for the report Paul. Some of it reminds me of what I regularly heard in
Seward in the 60s. I have not heard the calls KLAM mentioned anywhere in years.
Back in the 60s they were a regular in Seward daily. They operated on from
7:30-9:30 AM and again 5-10 PM. I QSL'd KSDP back a few years
For those interested, the exact same 33 second long signal of 1575-VOA was

morning during the Thailand station's powerful fade in at 1341 UTC. The two
models were separated by about 25 feet so that there would be no
