Like Chris, I would certainly benefit from a “Total Recorder for Dummies “
cheat sheet to do simple DX recordings from audio spectrum files.

I can confirm that Timosoara 630 and RRA 531 are on the air. Heard on my car
radio this week (from Osijek, Croatia about 250 km from Timosoara).

This morning was the best morning for TP's so far in Newfoundland. On a 10 deg
beveridge (again transpolar), we were hearing 972, 774, 1134, 1287 around 1000
UTC. 972 was in as early as 0915 UTC. 1566 was quite nice at 1000 UTC. We have
to be careful around 0900 since some European stations,
have been cancelled.

Hi Walt,
Is it RNE or is it Romania which is often strong on 855 ?(and if it is, then
1179 and 1552 are also worth checking). I had 1179 giving me a het on Friday on
a rental car driving home, so it would be a channel to check as well.

Guys, I am with Paul on this one. I cant remember the last time that I used WWV
etc for accurate time. If I want accurate time I will go to GPS. If am out of
ange of GPS, I am probably out of range of WWV and likely would not have
brought a radio for checking time by HF.
Sadly, other than WWVB
Nick,
I do recall seeing that version during one of my early trips to Grayland in
late 90's, but, as I recall, we didn't hear Indonesia 909 that nightLOL

You must be much more selective in your recordings than I am! In
Newfoundland, we often have 600 GB to 1 TB of recordings over 5 or 6 days (I
always take a new 2 GB HD just to be safe). Now, to be fair, we do have 2

I would really doubt that this is Australia - Sydney is over 1 hour past

First. you went for the "Heard All Iran" in Newfoundland. Then you moved on

I would tend to agree with Chuck that when you are on the coast, the direct
water paths to the target areas are more important than ground conductivity.
Conductivity is good, but, Gary DeBock's cliffside (rocks) listening with
ultralights would tend to support the importance of a clear shot
Steve,
I was listening to a feature on Fox Sports Radio about the Indy Driver at
that time also. Two Fox stations that I see listed on 1040 are WQBB,

Wow! Looks like they will be losing one internet listener. I had my bedside
radio set to KGO mainly due to the intelligent discourse that one could get

The last I heard, they had a collection in the 10's of thousands.
