Spent the weekend in Redmond, OR and KFIR was OK using the 2010 and
the Palomar loop. However, I don't have anything to compare it with
so can't really say they are now 10kw vs. their previous 1kw.
This is a nice DX area with the likes of KFAQ-1170 (never heard in

Hi Pete,
Thanks for the interesting report from Redmond. I presume 900 Bend will
protect the NW (CKMO). KBND is a powerhouse here at night with KFAB
under or mixing. 940 is rare except at LSS. KRCO is u/CBU days and and
occ u/CBU at night. I still need to relog 1240 Redmond as the new

Good Evening,
I have noticed that when listening to the Phil Hendrie show on KDWN 720 at
11:00 P.M.PDT, that KFIR can be heard underneath KDWN. At first I thought that

lately, day and night.
Dennis,
Vancouver, WA
Mike,
Congratulations on hearing KFIR on 720 kHZ. I know how strong KDWN is in
Northern California. I lived in the Bay Area and Vacaville. Now up here in
Vancouver KDWN is S-9 +20 db with the antenna NW. I would bet that you will
hear Hawaii before I will. South Pacific reception here
