Phil,
Your CW was probably CKKY.

Congratulations on hearing WCCO. There's a station I haven't heard in
many years. Maybe I just listen at the wrong time, but all I hear there
is KNCO and CKKY (wnich was probably your unid cw).
I'd been on a business trip all week and totally forgot about the KLAA test.

As expected, no luck here either. Just a very loud WCRN Worcester, MA with
some other talker weakly in the background - maybe old friend WCCO which was
heard nightly here in the 60's and 70's.

I haven't seen much on the KLAA test. If you heard the test, definitely or
tentatively, or even just tried for it, please let me know. Thanks.

Jim,
I tried for the test (well, in automated fashion), but have just
checked the tape, and no sign of KLAA here. Had nulled WCCO, but the
only station I was hearing was in Spanish. A little unusual as I'd have
expected CKKY to dominate. Regardless, thanks to all involved for

Not a peep out of it here either and I am about 1,000 miles to the
North. Logged and QSL'd years ago under an earlier call, and tghey were
much easier then, but have not heard in a long time. Apparently their
Day Pattern must really null the North, probably to protect KNCO. Heard

I just talked with Brian Clark at KLAA and the DX Test this weekend is all
set to go. He said they will run a 30-second chunk of Morse code and sweep
tones near the top of the hour, and another shorter version near the bottom
of the hour. As a reminder, here is the scoop on the test:
