I felt the same way until I added the ELAD S2 receiver to my shack. There is no way I could have logged 125 new stations this summer the old fashioned way, but each to his own. By the way, I still DX the old fashioned way when time permits. Recording is just another tool in my DX arsenal.

For me it is not the same. When I was 15 I was getting up at 5 AM to DX. There is nothing like that feeling of getting up unnaturally early... Bleary eyed at the dials. It's hard to describe. Using an SDR Is like catching a re-run... Kind of a cheat. You weren't there for the action. I
