Saturday morning was quite productive DX-wise. Several second tier NHK
stations were in, as were several CNR1 outlets. The North Koreans on
819 and 873 managed to sneak past strong locals on 820 and 880 today.

Thanks Walt. I presume the router will use the regular walwart to power
it.
It is a long story on how this all came to be, but besides not having
high speed, I have decided to totally drop Century Link, the phone
company. It has cost me a fortune in phone bills with a business and
home numbers.
Hi all,
Pretty decent conditions to the east tonight. Noted CFZM 740 good with
Wichita Lineman by Glen Campbell at 0305 EDT. Some Sports talk under
CFZM, presume it is Fargo ND. Also some Unid with Coast to Coast program
on 1600 kHz. Toronto is also dominant on 1610.

Good morning,
Listen from 1250-1248 utc. Approaching lighting storm produced noise and
concerns about the equipment. Did have my Palstar
MW 550P damaged at Grayland by a close lighting strike years ago. Conditions
improved some in the past few days.

Due to a technical glitch (i.e. my brain wasn't fully in gear before
I went to bed last night). my antenna was set for north rather than west
this morning, so I didn't get a true picture of conditions. Did check
to see if the Perseus accidentally caught any Alaskans but no such luck.

Since 2009, I've been using an Apple Time Capsule, which has an AirPort
router built in. Zero QRM. It's fed by a Motorola SURFboard 6120, which
also produces no QRM.

I'd have to agree with Bruce about it not being quite as good this
morning, but I'm impressed at how much he digs out from under his
locals. A lot of the same stations as yesterday, but harder to dig them out.
Looking at signal strengths recorded overnight shows that the low

Hello All,
There were plenty of vibrant big gun signals from Asia here this morning, with
several second-tier stations also managing decent audio at times. 1323-CRI
started off the session with fair Korean speech at 1252, the first time that
it's been received here this season. 594,
Do you hear 1143 at all Gary? It sounds CC to me, but I'm not
hearing 738, and Dennis was hearing Kyoto on 1143, so I don't know
what's going on, presumably why I keep coming back for more, hi.
best wishes,
Nick

Nick,
1143-Taiwan is received here occasionally, but 1143-JOBR has never been logged.
In general, Dennis tends to have a lot more upper-band Japanese reception than
I do, so it's not surprising. Dennis' location seems to favor second-tier
Japanese stations when conditions are good, while mine
Heard that earlier today. I suspect it is WDCD in Albany, NY. I doubt it
was the nearby station in Newport, RI. The 1kHz tone was quite obvious on
the SDR monitor.

This is in fact WDCD 1540 Albany, NY.. a friend near New Britain, CT heard
the same thing as well.. and he's pretty certain it's WDCD.
I know of another station, an FM in Northern Arkansas that was stricken
with this last night too.
