Walt,
About 6 months ago I track a Russian station on 1710 kHz to a neighborhood near
164 th street
in Vancouver. Very expensive homes in this neighborhood. Have not heard this
station
this summer in my visits to the area. It seems that the Seattle area Russian
station on
1710 is still
Dennis,
I can verify that the Puget Sound Russian is still on. I just heard it a
few minutes ago.

Patrick,
I paid $12.99 for the Talking House transmitter. The Goodwill store had 3 of
them.
When I plugged it into a ground-fault outlet, it tripped the breaker. It works
when pugged into a regular AC outlet. 4 ft wire for a antenna in our den,
I could hear it a house or two away on the
Hi Dennis,
Thanks for the info. I would not mind buying one myself, if I found it.

Hi Mike,
It's fascinating to observe the differences between various listening
locations. Down here, nothing was even close to audio in the low end of
the band that day, and actually it's been that way for several days
now.It always amazes me how a 400 watt station in the X-band can
My apologies for sending an earlier message meant for Mike to the
entire list, but as I mentioned there, the 1566 Korean was in this
morning, for the first time this season. The only other stations with
audio were Brisbane's 4BC, with a nostalgia music request program.
(Seemed rather odd
This was the best morning this season here by some way. Still no Chinese, but
a lot more Japanese, and some pretty strong signals on the regulars. It may
take awhile to upload the details, because there's a couple of other things to
do this morning just now!
best wishes,
Nick

Listened from 1242-1342 utc. So many carriers.
Lower frequency Japanese stations popping in (558+567). VOA 1575 absent this
morning. Lower channels much better than higher channels.
153RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1242 steady S-3 signal with classical music.
180RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1247
One of the more upscale Goodwill's that I shop had two or three at one
time, for five dollars each. All had a cassette player in them. Might
have been neat to experiment with.

of anything from Calif noted either. This is in sharp contrast with a few days

off the top of my head but remember I had the same problem when I heard them.

Definitely a much better morning here, listening from 1250 to 1335UT, with the

Hello All,
Like Dennis and Nick have noted, the Japanese TP's were very strong this
morning, with the NHK big guns booming in at times on the low band. 594,
747 and 828 kHz had their best audio of the season, and there was even a
weak UnID Japanese station showing up on 738 kHz (for the

Lots of carriers across the band tonight, with weak audio noted from
France on 1377, Spain on 855, and Germany on 1269. Germany is actually

Yes, the signals are popping up and down here a lot too. Mostly

the only audio is on 1215, with the UK predominating, but with traces of

much everything was gone, just a few weak carrierswill keep an ear out for

Hi Nick and Nigel,
A weak carrier is also here on 1377 kHz (on just the modified ICF-2010, no
loops) but 1215 kHz shows nothing. 1377 produced weak French here on
occasion, last season (on the 9' PVC box loop), but 1215 has always been a
non-performer at this location.
