[IRCA] Oklahoma TP's 10/30/10

2010-10-30 Thread Richard Allen
Another bad morning for hearing TP signals in north central Oklahoma. Between 1218 and 1304 UTC, weak carriers were heard on 648, 702, and 774. I heard barely audible audio from JOAK 594 at 1243-1245 and 1258-1300. Receiver: Tecsun PL-310 with 7.5-inch loopstick. Local sunrise was at 1251.

Probably of limited applicability as it mostly orients itself to SW and VHF. While it includes what hams call LF, which correlates to 160 meters, which is located above the MW BCB, the propagation characteristics aren't identical. The bottom line with almost any MW propagation forecast is that

It was very poor for TP's again but I did hear audio from JOIB-747 and JOUB-774 around sunrise. Yesterday, I went out to check the antenna and found it in good shape which I knew that it would be as we have had no storms in the last week. It sure has been a very poor year for TP's with no

Hello All, West coast DXers with reasonably low expectations probably had a decent TP-DXing session this morning, at least in comparison to yesterday's miserable results. Propagation from 1300-1335 was not bad, and allowed some fairly healthy signals from Asian big guns like 594, 747,
