Hi Guys:
This Religious Station is still in there @ 2132 EST. They are now playing
Christian Choir Music with what sounds like a Female Choir. Very Catholic
Sounding , like what would be heard in a Catholic Mass.
WMUX??? I think so………Now an EWTN or WMUX ID would nice…

Must be nice to hear them. All I get is WTAM and I am only 100 miles or so
from them as the crow flies.

If it's EWTN I've found they often give the ID (when they give it) at a
minute or more before TOH...

This ( http://meduci.com/stations.html ) seems to be a reasonably accurate
source. By the way their main page has lots of useful, interesting links, AM
stereo airchecks, etc.

Posted this on the Perseus board, but not much help to be found. Perhaps Tim

You're listening to a test broadcast of a travelers information radio station.
This radio station broadcasts messages 24 hours a day on a special AM frequency
licensed by the Federal Communications Commission.
No other data, or local identifier ... just this, in a loop. There's also some

Strongly agree that IBOC has been a dismal failure and should be removed
from service in the AM band. The other recommendation that should be
strongly considered is the enforcement of FCC Part 15 rules.
Thanks, Paul. It's separate from the Hudson County station, which seems a bit
weaker in the direction I'm aimed at.
The following site only goes up to 1700:

I have absolutely no idea what this may be...

I was given the first link by the owner of WION-AM 1430, here in Michigan. He
is a great proponent of high-fidelity AM stereo.
BTW, see if you can catch WION's TOH high speed CW I.D. sometime.

I'm copying the test loop right now on 1710 also at 0244 UTC. It's

I hear the Hudson County TIS station here, but I can't be for certain if

I just found this on the HFU message board suggesting this is the Hudson

Well, yes, it was a lousy morning..possibly the lousiest morning
this season. A few hints of talk on 1575 around 1600UT (better on
the west rather than the north Flag for a change). Beyond that, 972
and 738 each delivered a reasonable carrier at a couple of points
between 1300 and
I'm aware of two in the midwest:
KGRN (1410 Khz, 500/50 Watts, Grinnell IA ND2 U). Content: music, news,
sports, etc.
WLS (890 Khz, 50KW U, Chicago) This one is odd, since they have been
news/talk since (I think)1989, with a hi-fi analog signal. . Interestly,
they still have the old Top 40
Because of its northern night pattern, CFMB 1280 Montreal is a very rare
visitor at my QTH in Madison WI. However tonight it is dominating 1280 here
with a strong signal and very little QRM, so perhaps pattern is out of whack or
it is still on day power. Programming is ethnic with occasional
I could pretty much copy what Nick reported today. The only
audio was a feeble effort from 1575 VOA shortly before 1500. Otherwise,
just the occassional carrier, and not many of them.

My morning was much like what Nick and Nigel reported. A carrier on
1566 that maybe had a moment of audio. Another carrier on 972. That was
all I could come up with.
