TA's on US channels are always good to get, so it was interesting to find BBC
Radio Scotland topping WGY on 810 at 6 p.m. EST / 2300 UTC this evening.
Though not rare at beach sites I can drive to in an hour or less (Duxbury,
Orleans, Eastham), it's quite a bit rarer at
Not even decent audio here on 1566but some audioalso around
1500UT; pretty comparable to a moment or two during the Japanese
service around 1320UT.
Otherwise a few carriers 612, 756 1098 1323.
Not an exciting morning by any stretch of the imagination.
best wishes,
Nick

After an improvement yesterday I was looking forward to a
continuation of that trend today. I should know better

Carriers also visible on 738 and 747 kc. I can see traces of modulation on 738.
I apologize for the random question marks appear in my postings. I have no idea
why they show up. Scott Michigan

162, 171 and 252 all weak but accounting for themselves tonight in Michigan.
Also, carrier visible on 855. And - of all things - I hear LORAN banging away
on 100 kc. Yes I know it was decommissioned. I think there's a station in New
Jersey that's doing some testing. Scott
Carrier visible, strong at signal peaks, on 891, and at times of peak the test
tone on 892 is also visible. Scott Michigan

I looks like is 8gb of flash storage. If the SDR can record up to 192 khz of
bandwidth then it would perfect for a quick on-the-go type of unit. Even
recording one frequency at a time would be ok for that.

Paul has a red hot location that is for sure... His location is not unlike
Masset - where one can start hearing TA's at 3 in the afternoon and TP's
until 10:30 AM.

Even if it is capable of receiving more than a single channel, there's not
likely enough capacity there to record it without dumping the output files
externally, which may also not be possible.
But what would be the point of a single channel SDR ?

It was speculated in a recent IRCA Technical
Column that this is a tablet based version of
something like the CommRadio CR-1 Les.That
is, a single frequency radio using SDR
technology.This isn't a bad thing, but it
possibly is not capable of wideband recording.

I’ll buy three of them!
Seriously, the noise levels have become so bad here that recording SDR files in
the quiet countryside is quickly becoming the only real option. Currently, that
means packing up the laptop, SDR, antennas, etc. It’s daunting—and I’ve been
looking for solutions to make

Some ghostly Chinese audio from 1566-HLAZ and a ghostly carrier on 1593 around
1410 were the only signs of Asian TP life this morning, and neither one showed
up until peak sunrise enhancement. It's almost enough to make one consider a
DXpedition in Galena, Alaska.

It was not a good morning here for a starving DX-er! There were only traces of
a signal on 1566 kHz but nothing audible arose from of the mire. There were
no signals on 594, 747 or 774 when checked.
