KXOR is back off again. Apparently like some others, just signed on for
a few days to keep their license going. I remember asking Bustos Media
a few years ago about when Churchill shut down their stations
(1450-Eugene, 660-Junction City, and 1040-Tigard-Portland), I asked if
Bustos Media was
Pat,
I heard KXOR 660 yesterday during the daytime with a decent signal here in
Salmon Creek. Today I'm getting a country station KAPS? at 12:30 P.M. PDT with
a fair signal

Dennis,
KXOR seemed to come on last week and then was not on today. Yes, that is
KAPS, the CW station. I get them both here, the SW EWE KXOR, the NE EWE
KAPS.

I finally got back online tonight after 2-3 days of t storm activity
here on the coast. Very unusual for any time of year, but especially in
October.
Heard lous SS music on 660 a while a go off the SW EWE. I wonder if
KXOR has returned?

Pete Pat:
You guys are not hearing things. Checked 660 at midnight PST and when
looping the Kiwa north I had KXOR just booming in. Looping E/SE brought
in KTNN-AZ with almost as good a signal and KXOR in the background.
Anyway as Pete noted they finished a song a tad after midnight and gave

Don,
I had not noticed KRVM, but there is a good possibility they are on day
power too Shouldn't everybody? Since there is no FCC to speak of,
stations can get away with about anything they want to.

There is an FCC. However, if they acted on every single DX'ers report of I
think this station is running over powered that's all they'd ever be
investigating.
As much as I don't like stations running overpower, they have other pressing
matters to attend to. And unless you have field measurements
Paul,
I e mailed an FCC official about a station once and the FCC official
being in Portland did not really investagate the station as it was in
another state where there are no FCC officials. I don't blame the FCC as
they do not have the resources or manpower to ride herd on broadcasters
today.

Yes, I know the FCC is given a budget, but maybe that should be
increased?
If we are going to support such a gov. agency, then it should work well.

KXOR-660 Junction City, OR is hanging in there tonight with Spanish
language programming and punctual on-hour IDs (logged at 2/22
and 0100 EST). CFFR was quite dominant at 2300. Who am I to say that
their 75 night watts really gets out well...

KXOR sounds like they have not been dropping power of late. At least not
any 75 or 140 watts. They were S9+20 last night. That is quite a signal
for 75/140 watts I would say. It seems a lot of SS stations seem to
forget to throw the switch at LSS.
