Good conditions again this morning. The SDR recording knows the full tale,
but here is a summary from 1340-1415UT with an overall peak near the 1412UT
local sunrise:
594 JOAK fair audio 1406
657 Pyongyang weak audio 1348
666 China? weak audio 1345
693 JOAB excellent audio 1415 (best signal here
... One of my regular visitors is AFN 810 The Eagle from Yokota Air Base in
Japan, with 50,000 watts.
The signal can be quite good at times, but it doesn't last too long and
fades out to mush but often comes back
Also, it peaks about an hour before local sunset (sunrise is 1930UTC) and
is gone
Lets see what this morning will produce for me when I go out around 1745,
so long as i dont freeze my a$$ off.. havent looked at the temperature yet

Paul,
From what I remember, the only way to ID the station in this case 5MV in South
Australia and 4TI in Queensland on the same frequency is via time checks given
if any are given at the time you are listening. Usually at the TOH or BOH you
may hear one.
South Australia is ½ hour behind
Yup. 1530 - good audio on 594...

No need to wait for a time check: if 1062 is parallel to 891 (by vfar the
easiest South Australian), it is South Australia as both have the half hour
time offset. If it is parallel to any of the other regular ABC Local stations
(774, 1548, 612, 702 etc), it is 4TI.
4TI is a nightly
Is there anyway to know which of the ABC'ers I logged on 1062? 5MV is in
South Australia and 4TI is in Queensland.
The signal was poor, and i didnt catch an id, here's a clip though:

Thanks for that Chuck, I did think about that after I posted my reply, the
major city station would relay to the regional station, so yes 5AN on 891
would be a good check.

The one I am most puzzled about is 1215.. looking in the ACMA database, I

that would seem near impossible to be heard up here.
I guess 1152 is 6PB. Not sure who 1134 is though.

A rather odd morning here. Audio was on the scarce side, with
only 1116 4BC, HLAZ 1566, VOA 1575, and an unID on 1386 (sounded like
Japan) providing bits of audio now and again in the 1400-1440 time period.
