Ikhlaas 
(purity and sincerity of intentions): It is the 
stripping (i.e. the purifying) of one's intentions in order to draw closer to 
Allaah - the Mighty and Majestic - in all matters. It is also said that ikhlaas 
is intending to single out Allaah alone with acts of obedience. It has also been 
said that ikhlaas is to forget about the creation by constantly looking towards 
the Creator. 
And ikhlaas 
(sincerity) is a condition for Allaah to accept those righteous actions that are 
done in accordance with the Sunnah (guidance) of Allaah's Messenger (Sallallahu 
'Alayhi wa Sallam - may the peace  blessings of Allah be upon him) . So 
Allaah - the Most High - commanded us with His saying:
"And they 
have not been commanded except to worship Allaah alone, having ikhlaas (purity 
of intention) in their Religion and not setting-up partners with Allaah in the 
worship of Him." [Soorah 
al-Bayyinah 38:5].
Abu Umaamah 
radiallaahu 'anhu (may Allah be pleased with him) relates:Once a man came to 
Allaah's Messenger (Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa Sallam) and said: What do you think 
about a person who joins us in the fighting only to seek fame and wealth? So 
Allaah's Messenger (Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa Sallam) replied: "He receives 
nothing!" The man repeated the question three times, each time Allaah's 
Messenger (Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa Sallam) said: "He recieves nothing!" Then he 
said: "Indeed Allaah does not accept an action except if it is done with ikhlaas 
(i.e. purely for Allaah's sake), seeking nothing but His Face." 2
Zayd ibn 
Thaabit radiallaahu 'anhu relates:The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa Sallam) 
said: "May Allaah brighten whosoever hears my words, memorises them and then 
conveys them to others. Many a carrier of knowledge does not understand it, and 
many a carrier of knowledge conveys it to one who has better understanding. 
There are three things which the heart of a Believer has no malice about: 
Ikhlaas for Allaah in one's action; sincere advice to the Muslim leaders; and 
clinging to the Jamaa'ah." 3
The meaning 
of the above being that these three matters strengthen the heart. And that 
whosoever adopts them, then his heart will be purified from deceit, corruption 
and evil. And no servant can be free from Shaytaan (devil) except by having 
ikhlaas , as Allaah - the Mighty and Majestic -said:
"Except 
those of Your servants who have ikhlaas ." [Soorah 
Saad 38:83].
It has been 
related from one of the pious people that he said: "O my soul! Have ikhlaas and 
then you will be purified." Thus, whenever any share of this world - in which 
the soul takes comfort and the heart inclines towards, either greatly or 
slightly - enters into our actions, then it marrs the purity and ruins the 
ikhlaas . For man becomes preoccupied with his portion of the world and becomes 
immersed in his desires; and very seldom are his action, or acts of worship, 
free from temporary objectives or desires of this kind. That is why it has been 
said: "Whosoever secures in his lifetime even a single moment of ikhlaas , 
seeking the Face of Allaah, he will be saved." This is because ikhlaas is 
something very precious, and cleansing the heart from impurities is something 
difficult.
So ikhlaas 
is: Cleansing the heart from all impurities - whether large or small - such that 
the intention of drawing closer to Allaah is stripped of all other motives, 
except that. And this matter cannot be imagined, except from someone who truly 
loves Allaah; and who is so absorbed in thinking about the Aakhirah (Hereafter), 
that there remains no place in his heat for the love of this world to settle. 
The likes of such a person - even when he is eating, drinking or answering the 
call of nature - has ikhlaas in his actions and has correct intentions. However, 
whosoever is not like this, then the doors of ikhlaas will be closed to him - 
except in rare exceptions. Likewise, whosoever is overwhelmed with the love of 
Allaah and the love of the Hereafter, then the actions that he does will all be 
characterised with this ikhlaas . However, if the person's soul is overwhelmed 
with this dunyaa (world), then the actions that he does will be characterised 
with this love, such that no act of worship - whether it be Fasting or Praying, 
or other than these - will be accepted from him, except in a few 
cases.
The cure for 
loving this world is to break these worldly desires that the soul has, 
curing-off the greed it has for this world and purifying it for the Hereafter. 
This will then become the overwhelming trait of the heart and with this state 
achieving ikhlaas will become much easier. For how many actions there are that a 
person does, thinking that they are done with true ikhlaas (sincerity), seeking 
only the Face of Allaah, but he is deluded, for he does not see

THE DOCTRINES OF WILAYAH (PATRONAGE) AND WISAYA
(TRUSTEESHIP) ARE THE MOST FUNDMENTAL IN SHIA BELIEFS.

WILAYAH ORIGINALLY SIGNIFIES PROXIMITY AND FRIENDSHIP.
THE SHIAS STYLE HAZRAT ALI R.A. AS THE WALI OF ALLAH,
THE MAN WHO IS ATTACHED TO THE DIVINITY BY THE
MYSTICAL TIE OF WILAYAH. ACCORDING TO THEM HAZRAT ALI
R.A. AND HIS DESCENDENTS ALONE DESERVE TO BE RECKONED
WALI (SPIRITUAL PATRON) AND AS SUCH THE WALI OR THE
IMAM IS THE SUPREME RULER OF THE WORLD OF ISLAM.

IT WOULD BE WORTH-WHILE TO MENTION HERE THAT AFTER THE
MARTYRDOM OF HAZRAT USMAN (R.A) WHEN THE PEOPLE OF
MADINAH WISHED TO OWE ALLEGIANCE AT THE HANDS OF
HAZRAT ALI R.A. AS A CALIPH, HE ADVISED THEM IN THESE
WORDS:

LEAVE ME AND SELECT SOMEONE ELSE TO THE SEAT OF
CALIPHATE (NAJJAH-TUL-BALIGHA).

HE IS ALSO REPORTED TO HAVE SAID:

IF YOU WOULD LEAVE ME OUT AND SELECT SOMEONE ELSE AS
A CALIPH, I WOULD BE CONTENTED TO BE AN ORDINARY
CITIZEN LIKE YOU. I HOPE THAT ONCE YOU HAVE SLECTED
SOMEONE AS YOUR WALI AND CALIPH, I WOULD BE MORE
SERIOUS THAN YOU IN FOLLOWING AND OBEYING HIM AND FOR
YOU MY BECOMING A MINISTER (WAZIR) IS BETTER THAN
BEING MADE AMIR''. (NAJJAH-TUL-BALIGHAH, P. 122,
PUBLISHED FROM TEHRAN 1345 H).

FROM THE ABOVE SAYING OF HADHRAT ALI (R.A) IT IS
EVIDENT THAT HE WAS NOT NOMINATED AS CALIPH THROUGH
WAHI (REVELATION FROM ALAH); OTHERWISE HE WOULD NOT
HAVE WISHED TO BE AN ORDINARY CITIZEN OR MINISTER
INSTEAD OF AMIR-UL-MOMINEEN AND KHALIFA-TUL-MUSLIMEEN
AS THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN AGAINST THE COMMAND OF ALLAH.
AND DELIBERATELY DISOBEYING ALLAH WOULD HAVE VIOLATED
HIS ISMAT (QUALITY OF SINLESSNESS  INFALLIBILITY)
WHICH ACCORDING TO SHIAS IS A MUST FOR THE OFFICE OF
IMAM.

IT IS RELATED FROM HASAN BASRI (R.A.) THAT HADHRAT ALI
(R.A) IS REPORTED TO HAVE SAID: RASUL--ALLAH (S.A.W)
GAVE PRECEDENCE TO HADHRAT ABU BAKR (R.A.) OVER
OTHERS. AS SUCH HE LED THE PEOPLE IN CONGREGATIONAL
PRAYERS (I.E. WHEN THE PROPHET (S.A.W.) WAS ILL
TOWARDS THE CLOSE OF HIS LIFE) ALTHOUGH I (ALI) WAS
PHYSICALLY PRESENT AND ENJOYING GOOD HEALTH AND AS NOT
SICK OR INDISPOSED AT THAT TIME. IF RASUL--ALLAH
(S.A.W.) WANTED TO GIVE ME PRECEDENCE HE COULD HAVE
DONE SO. HENCE WHEN ALMIGHTY ALLAH AND HIS MESSENGER
CHOOSE A PERSON FOR LEADING US IN THE CONGREGATIONAL
PRAYERS (I.E. ABU BAKR), WE CONSENTED IN ENTRUSTING
OUR WORLDLY AFFAIRS TO HIM (I.E. ACCEPTED THE
CALIPHATE OF ABU BAKR).

HAZRAT JUBAIR BIN MUTHAM REPORTED THAT A WOMAN SOUGHT
AUDIENCE WITH THE PROPHET (SAW) (TO SOLICIT ANSWERS
FOR CERTAIN QUERIES) AND (AFTER ATTENDING TO HER
QUERIES) HE ASKED HER TO COME AGAIN. SHE SAID: O
MESSENGER OF ALLAH! I MAY NOT FIND YOU DURING MY NEXT
VISIT (I.E. SHE THOUGHT THAT THE PROPHET MIGHT EXPIRE
BY THAT TIME) RASUL--ALLAH (SAW) SAID, IF YOU DO NOT
FIND ME, CALL ON ABU BAKR. (BUKHARI).

FROM THE CONDUCT AND CHARACTER OF HADHRAT ALI IT IS
CRYSTAL CLEAR THAT HE HAD UNDOUNDED LOVE FOR HADHRAT
ABU BAKR, UMAR AND UTHMAN (R.A). IT HIS WAS A HABIT
WITH HAZRAT ALI AND HIS CHILDREN TO SIDE WITH THE
COMPANIONS OF THE MESSENGER OF ALLAH AND HIS
SUCCESSORS (THE CALIPHS). THEY WERE ALWAYS ANGRY WITH
THE SHIA AND THOSE WHO ATTRIBUTED THEMSELVES TO THE
AHL-AL-BAIT (PEOPLE OF THE HOUSE OF THE PROPHET --
SAW) AND CLAIMED LOVE FOR THEM OR ASSERTED TO BE THEIR
FOLLOWERS. THEY CONDEMNED THE SHIA IN THEIR FACES WHO
SOWED THE SEED OF RANCOUR AND HATRED FOR HAZRAT ABU
BAKR, UMAR, USMAN AND REST OF HTE NINE COMPANIONS WHO
HAD BEEN GREETED WITH THE AWARD OF PARADISE IN THE
HEREAFTER.

IT IS STATED IN NAHJATUL-BALIGHA THAT WHEN THE 2ND
CALIPH HADHRAT UMAR (R.A) CONSULTED HADHRAT ALI (R.A)
REGARDING HIS DESIRE TO LEAD THE MUSLIM ARMY IN HIS
ROMAN EXPEDITION, THE LATTER (I.E. HADHRAT ALI)
ADVISED HIM AS UNDER:-

IF YOU YOURSELF GO TO FIGHT AGAINST THE ENEMY AND IN
THE PROCESS RECEIVE SOME INJURIES, THEN IN THAT EVENT
THERE WOULD REMAIN NO CENTRE OF GRAVITY OR CONVERGING
POINT FOR MUSLIMS FOR MANY TIMES TO COME. AS SUCH, YOU
SHOULD DEPUTE SOME EXPERIENCED COMMANDER TO LEAD THE
MUSLIM FORCES AGAINST THE ENEMY. PEOPLE WHO ARE USED
TO HARDSHIPS AND ARE SINCERE SHOULD BE PLACED UNDER
HIS COMMAND. ALLAH WILL GIVE YOU VICTORY AND THIS IS
YOUR DESIRE. AND IF SUPPOSING, MUSLIM ARMY IS
CONFRONTED WITH DEFEAT, THEN AT LEAST YOU ARE A SOURCE
OF SHELTER FOR THE PEOPLE AND DEFENDER OF THE LAST
RESORT.

WHAT COULD BE GREATER EXCELLENCE THAN THIS THAT
HADHRAT ALI (R.A.) PAID TRIBUTES TO THE 2ND CALIPH
HADHRAT UMAR AS CONVERGING POINT FOR THE ISLAMIC UMMAH
AND DEFENDER OF THE LAST RESORT. AGAIN WHEN HADHRAT
UMAR (R.A) CONSULTED HADHRAT ALI (R.A) REGARDING
EXPEDITION AGAINST PERSIA, HE ADVISED:

ALMIGHTY ALLAH HAS DESIRED US TO DOMINATE IN THIS
WORLD. AND SURELY ALLAH TA'ALA IS GOING TO FULFIL HIS
DESIRE AND ACCELERATE THE FORCES OF ISLAM. ONE WHO IS
THE LEADER OF MUSLIMS IN MATTERS OF DEEN, HE IS JUST
LIKE A THREAD IN THE NECKLACE OF PEARLS. WHEN THAT
THREAD IS BROKEN, THE PEARLS GET SCATTERED AND CANNOT
BE REASSEMBLED. ALTHOUGH THE PEOPLE OF ARABIA ARE LESS
IN NUMBER AS COMPARED TO THEIR ENEMIES BUT THEY ARE
SUPERIOR ON

TERRIFYING BELIEFS OF SHI'ITES

Allaah often lies and does mistakes. (usool-e-kaafi,
page #328, yaqoob kulaini, vol1). 

The Munafiqeen (i.e. Sahaba) took very much out of
Quran (took out the verses). (Ihtijaj-e-tibri, page
#382). 

When Imaam Mehdi comes he will bring with him the real
and original Quran. (Ahsan-ul-maqaal, page #336,
safdar Husain najfi). 

The person who says that the present Quran is complete
is a liar because the complete Quran was compiled by
Hazrat Ali. (Fasl-ul-khitaab fee tahreef kitaab
rab-ul- arbab, page #4, Noori Tibri). 

Abu Bakr is kafir and the one who loves Abu Bakr is
also kafir. (Faq-ul-yaqeen, page #690, Baqar majlisi).


Abu Bakr was kafir and Zandeeq. (Kashf-ul-asrar, page
#69, khamini). 

There is no difference in Abu Bakr and mirza Ghulam
Ahmed Qadiyani. (Jagir fidk, page #690, Ghulam Husain
najfi). 

Neither we believe the Allah nor the Prophet of the
God whose khalifah is Abu Bakr. (Anwar-ul-nomania,
page #278). 

I dont believe in that Allah who gives government to
Usman and Maavia. (Kashf-ul-asrar, page #107,
Khamini). 

Umar was a real kafir and Zandeeq. (Kashf-ul-asrar,
Khaminee, page #119). 

When imam Mehdi comes he will make alive Hazrat
Aa'ishah from death and whip her. (Tafseer saafi, line
16, page #108). 

Abu Bakr and Umar were agents of Iblees.
(Hulyat-ul-mateen, mulla baqar majlisi). 

Hazrat Khalid bin Walid was not saif-ullah but
saif-us-shaitaan. (Manazir-o-baghdad, page #100). 

All the Prophets will become alive from dead and start
the jihad under the leadership of Hazrat Ali. (Tafseer
ayyashee, page #181). 

Real Quran that is compiled by Hazrat Ali will come
with imam Mehdi. (Anwar-ul-nomania, page #360). 

All Prophets are beggar at the doorstep of Ali.
(khalqat-e-norania, page #201, Talib Husain karpalwi).


All the prophets and Angels are the slaves of the 12
imams except Mohammad (saw). (kaleed manaazra, page
#35, barkat ali). 

12 imams are the teachers of all Prophets except
Mohammad (saw). (Majmoa-e-majalis, page #29). 

When imam Mehdi comes he will hang Hazrat Abu Bakr and
Umar at the holy grave of Hazrat Mohammad (saw).
(Majma-ul-maarif, page #49). 

If Gabriel and Mekael had loved Abu Bakr then they
would have been in hell too. (Ameer mukhtar, page #8,
mirza basharat Husain). 

After the death of Hazrat Mohammad (saw) all the
Sahaba become MURTAD except three. (Roza-e-kafee, page
#245) 

Hazrat Anas Bin Malik, Abu huraira, Amr bin Aas, Ameer
Maavia and Aa'ishah were worst people of all times.
(Makalmaat-e-husainia, page #59). 

Man can have Nikah (marriage) with man and his mother,
sister and daughter too. (Firqa-ul-shiat, Abi
Mohammad-ul-Hasan Bin Moosa). 

Hazrat Abu Bakr was Mushrik, Umar was Munafiq and
Usman was Kafir. (Shiaan-e-ali aur inn kee shaan,
page #54, ghulam husain najfi). 

When imam Mehdi come he will be nude and the first
person who Bayah him is Mohammad (saw).
(Haq-ul-yaqeen, page #347, Baqar majlisi). 

Hadhrat Umar (Radiallahu Anhu) was the leader of the
Munafiqeen (hypocrites). 

Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) had prayed for
the murder of Hadhrat Umar (Radiallahu Anhu). 

The day on which Hadhrat Umar (Radiallahu Anhu), was
murdered by the Persian kafir, Lu'lu', is the most
auspicious day of the year. 

Aa'ishah and Hafsah martyred Rasulullah by giving him
poison. (Hayat-ul-quloob, page #870, Baqar Majlisi). 

Thus these two male munafiqs (referring to Abu Bakr
and Umar) and those two female munafiqs (referring to
Aa'ishah and Hafsah) agreed to martyr Rasulullah by
administering poison to him. (Hayat-ul-quloob, page
#745, Baqar Majlisi)

A comparison between the people of Lut and the West nowadays:

I want to go back and talk about our state nowadays.   Is the West
now very different from the people of Lut and what they did?  I am
saying these words to many of the young generation who are dazzled
by civilizations other than the Islamic civilization.  I am not
saying that the entire West is like that, they have good things too,
but the West is missing some very important ethical concepts.  I
will tell you some information about what people like the people of
Lut are doing in the West, from statistics done in the 1990s:

·  The number of gays in America is 17 million persons,
men and women.

·  The number of societies that takes care of gay issues
is 3062 societies.

·  There are clubs and restaurants especially for gays.
Remember here what Allah (SWT) says in the Ayah which can be
translated as Do you really come up to (obscenity) to men, and cut
the way, and come up in your assembly to maleficence? . (TMQ, 29:29)

What is even stranger is that I read some news in some foreign
magazines a couple of days ago, which is not related to gays, but
will show you their way of thinking.  The story is about a picture
of an international tennis champ getting married to an international
tennis champ.  They are wearing their wedding clothes while carrying
their son!  They had him three days after the wedding, and it was
not a miracle!  What is even stranger is that they take this story
as good news, and give it their best wishes.  Can you imagine how
low they went?  This civilization can not last.

I was surprised when I was in England in 1989 to see a story on the
British television that the parliament of a Scandinavian country
assembled for voting for legalizing gay marriage.  Voting resulted
in passing the law.  After this story, the television showed scenes
from marriage parties; two men getting married, with their families
throwing flowers at them.  Can you imagine the extent to which they
went against their natural instinct?

Abdul-Malik Ibn-Marawan said, I did not think that there are people
who would do this sin.  I would not believe it unless Allah
mentioned it in the Qur'an.  When we read this today, we wonder
what will happen to the earth and this civilization.

Prophet Lut's message for ethical reform:

Prophet Lut (AS) started calling them over and over.  What was he
calling them for?  Worshipping or the correct belief?  Each Prophet
called his people to the belief or to worship.  The only heavenly
message which lacked this meaning is that of the Prophet Lut (AS).
The reason is that they have a calamity, no act of worship or belief
is useful before fixing this calamity.  Therefore, ethical reform is
more important.

You and calling to Allah (SWT):

I want you to imagine the society that Prophet Lut (AS) is calling.
He wanted to reform a whole city.  Can you imagine his patience and
faith?  He did not give up, and tried with them until the last
moment.  On the other side, you are fed up with calling your friends
because they don't do their prayers for example.  Do you have his
strength to be able to help your friends? Prophet Lut (AS) kept on
calling his people, although he didn't find it to be of any use.
Similarly, you should keep on calling even if you do not see any
hope.  Your task is to help people to get the reward, to say to
Allah (SWT) on the Day of Judgment, Forgive me Lord, but I did all
I could.  You don't want Allah (SWT), on the Day of Judgment, to
say that the building you live in, for example, is full of lost
people although there dwells a religious person in the same
building, which is you, and then asks His angels to start with you!

You know the story of the man who was a virtuous worshipper and was
keen to please Allah (SWT), while the whole village he lived in was
lost and full of wicked people.   Therefore, Allah (SWT) ordered
Jibril (AS) (Gabriel) to destroy that village.  Jibril (AS)
said, My Lord, it has your slave who stands in prayer, kneels down
and prostrates all the time (i.e. he fulfills the worship duty).
Allah (SWT) said, O Jibril, start with him. Jibril (AS) said, Why
My Lord?  Allah (SWT) said, His face has never turned red from
being angry for My sake.  Imagine how worshipping was not enough,
because he did not care about the sins committed from those around
him.  Do you see the importance of guiding people but politely, with
no trouble, and with a smile?  At least your heart should be in pain
from what you see around you.  Beware of being the only religious
one among many people away from the right path, and still you are
happy.  You will be surprised with Allah (SWT) saying start with
him, for he did not do anything for the sake of Allah.

This does not mean that you only talk to them about religion, but
you also show them your morals, you befriend

COPENHAGEN, March 10, 2006 (IslamOnline.net  News Agencies) – Muslim 
scholars taking part in a Copenhagen meeting on religious and cultural dialogue 
demanded the Danish government on Friday, March 10, to apologize for the 
publication of cartoons lampooning Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon 
him), criticizing the government's mishandling of the crisis. 
"The Danish government should do a lot of things. The government should 
apologize," Egyptian preacher Amr Khaled told reporters Friday at the 
inauguration of the conference, Agence France-Presse (AFP) reported. 
Khaled, who has initiated the one-day meeting, said dialogue and many 
practical common projects, however, are more important that the apology. 

"Denmark needs now to build bridges," he added.
Kuwaiti scholar Tareq Suwaidan also backed Khaled's call for an apology 
from the Danish government.
"An official apology is absolutely necessary ... because your government 
has not dealt with them (Muslims) respectfully," he said. 
Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen has refused to apologize for 
the publications of the cartoons on claims of freedom of _expression_ and the 
press. 
The meeting is organized by the Danish Institute for International 
Studies and funded by the Danish foreign ministry.
It discusses Muslim-West dialogue, freedom of _expression_ and the status 
of the Muslim minorities in the West.
Leading among attendees are the head of the Cairo-based Danish-Egyptian 
Dialogue Institute Jakob Skovgaard-Petersen and Danish bishop Karsten Nissen. 

The cartoons, including one showing the Prophet with a bomb-shaped 
turban, were first published by Danish daily Jyllands-Posten in September 
and reprinted by European newspapers on claims of freedom of 
_expression_.
That argument has been rejected by Muslims who believe it should not be 
used as a pretext to insult any religion.
The caricatures, considered blasphemous under Islam, have triggered 
massive and sometimes violent demonstrations across the Muslim world.

Suwaidan has also criticized the Danish government for mishandling the 
crisis.
"We are not angry because some of your cartoonists have drawn our beloved 
Prophet. We are aggravated because of the way your government has mishandled 
this situation," he said. 
He said the Danish government should have followed suit of Norway in 
apologizing for the printing not just for "offending" the feelings of Muslims. 

"If they (the Danish government) had just done that, the problem would 
not have escalated," he said.
Khaled said they came to Denmark leading a delegation of Muslim youths 
seeking cooperation with their Danish peers to defuse the crisis. 
"We came here to build bridges but it must be two-way bridges," Khaled 
said.
"We are looking for a moderate Danish partner to ally with and draw 
attention to the moderate Muslims," he said adding that "this moderate partner 
unfortunately could not be found." 
Khaled also said Muslims supported freedom of _expression_, but without 
insulting religions.
Anti-Blasphemy Law
Suwaidan reiterated Muslim calls to enact a law banning 
blasphemy.
"Either you have freedom of speech for everyone, including (on issues 
like) the Holocaust and anti-Semitism or you change the laws to respect 
religious figures like our Prophet Muhammad," Suwaidan said. 
The Organization of the Islamic Conference and the Arab League, the 
Muslim world's two main political bodies, are seeking a UN resolution, backed by 
possible sanctions, to protect religions following the publication of the 
provocative cartoons. 
Muslim dignitaries and organizations have also called for the enactment 
of an international law banning the publication of any insults to religious 
symbols and values.

Palestinians with impunity, attacking children on their way to school and
destroying farmers' trees and crops, a U.N. expert on the Israeli-Palestinian
conflict said in a report. John Dugard, a South African lawyer, called
the withdrawal of Israeli troops and settlers from the Gaza Strip last summer
a positive step. But the Jewish state effectively controls Gaza through
targeted killings and sonic booms from warplanes flying over the region,
Dugard said in a report prepared ahead of next week's annual meeting of the
53-member U.N. Human Rights Commission. Itzhak Levanon, Israel's U.N.
ambassador in Geneva, rejected Dugard's allegations as "misinformed and
inaccurate." Dugard's report "is guided by a clear political agenda,
and bears little relation either to the facts or existing principles of
international law," Levanon said in an e-mailed statement to The Associated
Press.Israel has previously rejected Dugard's reports on the
Palestinian-Israeli dispute as being one-sided, noting that he has been
assigned only to investigate violations by the Israeli side. Dugard
said settler violence has been particularly egregious in the West Bank city of
Hebron. His 22-page report made no reference to Palestinian terrorism, but
said Hebron settlers "terrorize the few Palestinians that have not left the
old city and assault and traumatize children on the way to school."
"It seems that settlers are able to terrorize Palestinians and destroy
their trees and crops with impunity," Dugard said, adding that he himself was
a victim of settler abuse while visiting the city in June 2005. Dugard
prepares regular reports for the U.N.'s human rights watchdog during visits to
the region, but receives no cooperation from the Israeli government.
Next week's meeting comes as U.N. member states debate replacing the
discredited Human Rights Commission with a new body. The commission has been
widely criticized for allowing some of the worst rights-offending countries to
use their membership to shield each other from condemnation.Dugard
filed his report before Hamas won Palestinian elections in January and made no
mention of the Islamic militant group, which is sworn to Israel's destruction
and refuses to renounce violence. The report "ignores the fact that
the Hamas, considered as a terrorist organization by the family of nations,
controls the Palestinian authority and disregards the enormous efforts done by
Israel to fight this terrorism while preserving humanitarian law and human
rights," Levanon said. Dugard said Israel's actions in Gaza violated
the Geneva Conventions on warfare, which forbid "all measures of intimidation
or of terrorism" against civilians in time of war. In the first three
months after the Gaza withdrawal, targeted assassinations by Israeli defense
forces in the territory killed 18 civilians and injured 81, in addition to
killing 15 militants. Palestinians have launched rockets from Gaza
against southern Israeli towns, and Israel has retaliated with artillery fire

Before I respond to the rest of Ardeshirs ramblings, I want to correct one error I made in my earlier post. I stated: The overthrow of Spain came from outside with Charles Martel and his barbarous European hordes. Charles Martel defeated the Muslims at the Battle of Tours in 732 AD at the south of France. He never conquered Spain. It was in 1492 that Ferdinand II of Aragon and Isabella finally conquered Spain. Constitution is more in line with the Islamic idea of man than the Christian idea of man. The freedom to pursue life, liberty and excellence are ideas espoused in the Quran. The Declaration of Independence of the USA was in reality no more than a re-discovery of many of the major and basic principles given in the Quran. When Thomas Jefferson wrote down the Declaration of Independence, he was influenced by the natural rights theories of John Locke. It is a known fact that Thomas Jefferson "borrowed" many of his ideas for the Declaration of Independence from John Locke. As it turns out, Locke had a degree in Arabic Studies from Oxford University and "borrowed" many of his ideas from the Qur'an. Interesting, the roots of American democracy was in Al-Islam. Rather than deal with that in depth here, I will write another essay entitled Sharia versus Democracy that explores that connection.

Milosevic found dead in Hague 
cellSlobodan Milosevic, former Yugoslav dictator and war 
criminal has been found dead in his prison cell in The Hague, the UN has 
confirmed. Milosevic had been on trial for genocide, crimes against humanity and 
war crimes since 2002. Milosevic, who was in office for 13 years, was sent to 
The Hague war crimes court in June 2001, eight months after he was toppled in a 
popular uprising. When his trial began in Febuary 2002 he faced 60 counts of war 
crimes and crimes against humanity for his alleged central role in the wars in 
Bosnia, Croatia and Kosovo in which 200,000 Muslims were brutally 
killed.

Abbas 'rejects' Hamas 
programme Mahmud Abbas, the Palestinian president, has 
rejected Hamas's proposed government programme because it does not meet his 
demands and those of the international community on relations with Israel. Abbas 
"rejected the Hamas government programme which was presented to him by prime 
minister-designate Ismail Haniya because the principal political points in it 
have to be clear for the international community", an official said. Abbas has 
given Hamas two weeks to change its programme in accordance with his 
demands, the official added. That would give Haniya until 28 March -the same day 
as a scheduled general election in the Zionist state of 
Israel.

Jordan hangs two over murder 
Authorities in Jordan have executed a Libyan and a 
Jordanian convicted over the 2002 murder of a US diplomat, officials said. 
Yasser Saad bin Suweid, 43, and Yasser Fateh Freihat, 31, were hanged in Swaka 
prison south of the capital yesterday. Laurence Foley, 62, an official for the 
US Agency for International Development, was gunned down outside his Amman in 
October 2002. The two hanged convicts were sentenced to death in 2004. Tight 
security was in force on all access roads to the prison from Friday evening for 
the 
hangings.

Pakistan troops kill 30 militants 
in raid on hideoutPakistani security forces backed by 
helicopter gunships attacked a hideout of 'militants' in a tribal region near 
the Afghan border, killing up to 30 people, the military said on Saturday. The 
overnight attack in the North Waziristan tribal region was ordered after 
intelligence reports suggested that miscreant were gathered in a compound along 
with a huge cache of arms, ammunition and explosives. Rugged North Waziristan 
has been the scene of fierce battles between security forces and 'militants' 
this month. More than 120 people have been 
killed.

Protesters arrested in 
Bahrain Bahraini police have arrested 24 people after 
using tear gas to disperse a protest in the Gulf Arab state. The protesters were 
demanding the release of 10 youths arrested after a sit-in at the country's 
airport in December over the brief detention of a Shia Muslim cleric, Shaikh 
Mohammed Sanad, as he returned from Iran. A police official claimed protesters 
had stormed a shopping mall and vandalised property. Bahrain, headquarters of 
the US Navy's Fifth Fleet, witnessed political unrest in the 1980s and the 1990s 
by its Shia majority who were demanding more rights from the Sunni-led 
government. The least wealthy of the Gulf oil producers, Bahrain has a history 
of political tension over unemployment and alleged human right 
abuses. Qatar 
extradites Egyptian suspect Qatar has extradited to 
Egypt an Egyptian suspected of financing attacks on tourists in Cairo last year, 
Egyptian security officials have said. The man was handed to Egyptian 
authorities on Friday. He was one of 14 people referred for trial by the public 
prosecutor this week for involvement in the two bombings and a shooting in April 
last year. The first bombing on 7 April in a Cairo bazaar popular with tourists 
killed the bomber, two French people and an American. On 30 April a bomber from 
the claimed to be from same group wounded tourists near Cairo's Egyptian museum 
while his sister and wife opened fire on a tourist bus in the south of the city. 
All three attackers were 
killed.

Lebanese parties to resume 
embittered crisis talksTalks between Lebanese leaders 
aimed at digging the country out of political quagmire are to resume Monday amid 
persistent divisions, which caused the meeting to break off mid-way. The

The fundamentalist Christians do not realize that Allah is the God of Christians too! Arab-speaking Christians recognize Allah as the only name of God just as Muslims do. Moreover, if you happen to be traveling in USA and staying the night in any room in any hotel, you might find a Gideon's Bible which is translating John3:16 into 26 of the top languages. Two of these languages are Arabic and Malay. What word is used for God in their passages of John 3:16? It is Allah!Critics of Islam usually present translated Verses of the Quran that are taken out of context, or they pick up a translation that advances their biased point of view. Yet, the Office for Non-Christian Affairs at the Vatican published a document under the title Orientations for a Dialogue between Christians and Muslims that it shows the position that the Vatican has adopted towards Islam. In the third edition of this study (1970), this new position calls for a revision of our attitude towards it (Islam) and a critical examination of our prejudices: ... Subject: Guantanamo BayAfter reading Mozam Begg's autobiography, Enemy Combatant,I became interested in Guantanamo Bay and other camps and so started to research on all the camps and the conditions detainees had to endure-some of which was heartbreaking. I soon found that so many plights of our Muslim brothers and sisterswere being brushed under the carpet, and people soon becameuninterested in them. Our brothers and sisters were being torturedeveryday-from being kept in stress positions,isolation and being bothphysically and emotionally abused and having their basic rights ignored.All of this is happening everyday, to about 500 detainees, some ofthem have been detained for years on end and will probably never come out again, yet we so often forget about it because its so much easier to forget than act on it.For example last year Amnesty international held a conference in which every other human rights
 organization had an input yet there were no representatives from any Muslim human right groups and not even theMuslim Council of Britain even though they are the organization which is meant to be defending our rights, as Muslims, in the UK. As Muslims,I believe its about time we started to be a lot moreproactive and help our brothers and sisters detained, instead of justtaking the back seat and trying to forget about it. This could just befrom doing something small like signing a petition or just researchingon the camps to writing letters to president Bush, writing to thedetainees to tell them we are still thinking about them or educatingothers. I personally recommend as many people as possible to read Moazzam Beggs autobiography, Enemy Combatant, to get a real understanding of what its like being in Guantanamo bay and other camps as a starting point, as well watching the documentary/film recently aired on channel 4, called 'The Road
 to Guantanamo' which tells of the experiences of 3 boys in Guantanamo, which will soon be available on line and on DVD.After reading the book and watching the film i was touched and decided o be more proactive. I believe it would be of benefit to us all and anyone who just turns a blind eye must be totally heartless. Remember, one day you will be asked about what you did whilst you were alive. make this a turning point and do as much as you can. Shaytaan drinks  with the left hand   - Sit and drink   - Recite "Bismillah" before drinking   - After drinking say " Alhamdullilah"   - Drink in 3 breaths removing the utensil from the mouth  after each sip   - Do not drink directly from the jug or bottle. One should  pour   the contents into a glass first and then drink Sunnats of Sleeping:   - Discuss with one's family members matters pertaining to  Deen   before going to sleep.(whether it is in the form of reading some IslamicBooks or narrating some incidents of Sahabah,etc.)   - To sleep in the state of Wuzu   - To make the bed yourself   - Dust the bed thrice before retiring to bed   - One

Females must wear   scarves at all times   - When wearing shoes, first wear the right shoe then the left   - When removing them first remove the left and then the right Sunnats of the Toilet:   - Enter the toilet with your head covered   - To enter the toilet with
 shoes   - Recite the dua before entering the toilet   - Enter with the left foot   - To sit and urinate. as a tourist destination. The campaign is supported by the Palestinian Return

Muslim Association of Britain, the Palestinian Forum in Britain and the
Scottish-Palestinian Solidarity Campaign. Arsenal Football Club has just
signed a sponsorship deal to promote Israel as a tourist destination from next
season. The £350,000 agreement makes Israel Arsenal's "official and exclusive
travel destination." Below are just some of the benefits Israel will receive
from this deal: - Israel will be featured on digital perimeter boards
and 450 high-definition LCD screens at the stadium on game days; - Israel
will feature on the team's website, Arsenal.com; and in its magazine. - The
televised ads will reach audiences in an estimated 198 countries. - The
Israeli Tourism Ministry will receive intellectual property rights, the use of

Israel_s plan to carve up the West Bank, apportioning pieces of territory to the
Palestinians is also comparable with South Africa's "bantustans" - the nominally
independent homelands into which millions of black men and women were herded.
Israel's racial discrimination is daily life of most Palestinian Arabs
who have no place in a "Jewish" state. Since Israel is a Jewish state, Israeli
Jews are given special rights which non-Jews do not have. Israel has deprived
millions of Palestinians of their liberty and property and has waged a war
against a civilian population, in particular children. As regards
football, Israeli human rights groups have documented how Israeli soldiers
routinely shoot Palestinian children playing football outside their refugee
camps. Furthermore, Israeli authorities regularly prevent Palestinian players
from attending international games. In September 2004, five players were
prevented from traveling to the World Cup qualifier against Uzbekistan. Unable
to play in Palestine, the team travels to Doha, Qatar, for "home" games and
trains in Ismailia, Egypt, more than 100 miles from the local Gaza players'

Action Alert: Ex-Israel Adviser appointed to head Foreign Office Legal 
Department

IHRC urges all campaigners to contact the Foreign Office to call for the 
removal of an ex-Israeli government adviser who has recently been appointed 
to head its legal department.


1. Background

The British Foreign Office has appointed a controversial Israeli government 
adviser, Daniel Bethlehem QC, to one of its most sensitive posts as head of 
the legal department.

Daniel Bethlehem's previous history indicates a pro-Israeli bias which 
should not taint any legal adviser for the British government. In 2002, 
Bethlehem's advice led the then Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to block 
a UN inquiry into the Jenin massacre. Bethlehem warned in a memo for the 
Israeli government that if the inquiry's findings uphold the allegations 
against Israel - even on a poor reasoning - this will fundamentally alter 
the dynamics of the Israeli-Palestinian leadership and may make it 
impossible for Israel to resist calls for an international force, the 
immediate establishment of a Palestinian state and the prosecution of 
individuals said to have committed the alleged acts.

Bethlehem also took the lead for the Israeli government at the International 
Court of Justice in The Hague in 2004 to defend the apartheid wall being 
built through the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem. Interestingly, the 
Foreign Office published a lengthy CV for Bethlehem listing 27 international 
disputes in which he has been involved but omitting Jenin.

Bethlehem will be now responsible for advising Foreign Secretary Jack Straw 
on a host of issues such as Guantanamo Bay, the occupation of Iraq and the 
legality of any pre-emptive strike against Iran. Indeed, Bethlehem's view on 
attacking Iran may be suggested by his evidence last year to the Commons 
foreign affairs committee. Although an Israeli pre-emptive strike on an 
Iraqi nuclear reactor at Osirak in 1981 was judged to be illegal, a good 
case could have been made for it both then and now, he said.

Campaigners for justice must act now to ensure that the British government 
will not be influenced by legal advisers who are clearly biased in favour of 
a nation which routinely breaches her obligations under international law.


2. Suggested Action

Contact the Foreign Office and request the removal of Daniel Bethlehem from 
his post as head of its legal department. Point out that it is wholly 
inappropriate for someone with such a bias to be in that position and that 
his appointment sends out the wrong signal on how seriously Britain takes 
its own obligations under international law, particularly after the 
controversy over the legal advice given to the British government on the 
legitimacy of pre-emptive strike on Iraq.

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the appointment of Daniel 
Bethlehem as the head of the FCO's legal department.

As you are aware, Mr Bethlehem has previously been employed as an adviser to 
the Israeli government. After the Israeli massacre in Jenin in 2002, Mr 
Bethlehem warned the then Israeli prime minister, Ariel Sharon that any UN 
inquiry into the events could result in it becoming impossible for Israel to 
resist calls for an international force, the immediate establishment of a 
Palestinian state and the prosecution of individuals said to have committed 
the alleged acts.

This advice resulted in Israel refusing to cooperate with the UN inquiry and 
thus obstructing the course of justice.

Mr Bethlehem also represented the Israeli government at the International 
Court of Justice in The Hague in 2004 to defend her construction of the vast 
steel and concrete barrier dubbed the apartheid wall being built through 
the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem.

Mr Bethlehem's previous experiences will almost definitely taint his 
viewpoint on international affairs, particularly those which concern his 
previous employer, Israel. I am most concerned as to how he will be in a 
position to give independent advice over the issue of any possible attack on 
Iran. In evidence last year to the Commons foreign affairs committee, 
Bethlehem said that even though an Israeli pre-emptive strike on an Iraqi

challange to every muslim.
We are muslims and we all believe in Laillaha illalah,
so why do we sit back while our brothers are tourtured
in Guantanamo Bay becuase of thier belive? If America
has a case against them, let her try them. Why are
muslim leaders not speaking against this injustice?
Can anyother country do this to an American? The so
called leaders of Iraq are enjoying the leadership

 I personally recommend as many people as possible to
 read Moazzam Beggs autobiography, Enemy Combatant,
 to get a real understanding of what its like being
 in Guantanamo bay and other camps as a starting
 point, as well watching the documentary/film
 recently aired on channel 4, called 'The Road to
 Guantanamo' which tells of the experiences of 3 boys
 in Guantanamo, which will soon be available on line
 and on DVD.
 
 After reading the book and watching the film i was
 touched and decided o be more proactive. I believe
 it would be of benefit to us all and anyone who just
 turns a blind eye must be totally heartless. 
 
 Remember, one day you will be asked about what you
 did whilst you were alive. make this a turning point
 and do as much as you can.

Middle Eastern anger over the decision by the US to block a Dubai
company from buying five of its ports hit the dollar yesterday as a
number of central banks said they were considering switching reserves
into euros.

The United Arab Emirates, which includes Dubai, said it was looking to
move one-tenth of its dollar reserves into euros, while the governor
of the Saudi Arabian central bank condemned the US move as
discrimination.

Separately, Syria responded to US sanctions against two of its banks
by confirming plans to use euros instead of dollars for its external
transactions.

The remarks combined to knock the dollar, which fell against the euro,
pound and yen yesterday as analysts warned other central banks might
follow suit.

Last week the US caused dismay after political opposition to the
takeover of PO by Dubai Ports World forced DPW to agree to transfer
PO's US port management business to a US entity .

The governor of the UAE central bank, Sultan Nasser al-Suweidi, said
the bank was looking to convert 10 per cent of its reserves, which
stand at $23bn (£13.5bn), from dollars to euros. They are
contravening their own principles, he said. Investors are going to
take this into consideration [and] will look at investment
opportunities through new binoculars.

Hamad Saud al-Sayyari, the governor of the Saudi Arabian monetary
authority, said: Is it protection or discrimination? Is it okay for
US companies to buy everywhere but it is not okay for other companies
to buy the US?

Syria has switched the state's foreign currency transactions to euros
from dollars, the head of the state-owned Commercial Bank of Syria,
Duraid Durgham, said.

Last week the White House told US financial institutions to terminate
all correspondent accounts involving the Commercial Bank of Syria
because of money-laundering concerns. Mohammad al-Hussein, Syria's
finance minister, said: Syria affirms that this decision and its
timing are fundamentally political.

The euro rose a quarter of one percentage point against the dollar to
a one-week high of $1.1945, although it retreated in later trading.

Monica Fan, at RBC Capital Markets, said: The issue is whether we
will see similar attitudes taken by other Middle Eastern banks. It is
a question of momentum.

The following discussion give some light to a small 
discussion about the 'doctrine of the trinity' between 
a Muslim and a Christian friend, may help us to imagine the dialogue that takes 
place now:
MUSLIM: 
Do

CHRISTIAN: 
Sure; 
it is written in the First Epistle of John (5:7 and 8): "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the 
Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear 
witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three 
agree in one."
MUSLIM: 
Oh, 
that is in the King James Version, authorized in 1611, and formed the strongest 
evidence for the Doctrine of the Trinity. But now this part, "the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are 
one," has been expunged in the Revised Standard Version of 
1952 and 1971 and in many other Bibles, as it was a gloss that had encroached on 
the Greek text.
I John 5:7 and 8 in the New American Standard Bible reads as 
follows: "And it is the Spirit who bears witness, 
because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear witness, the Spirit 
and the water and the blood, and the three are in agreement." Also, 
in the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures used by the Jehovah's 
Witnesses, you will find: "For there are three witness 
bearers, the spirit and the water and the blood, and the three are in 
agreement." I can understand if you don't 
know that this important part has been removed, but I wonder why many ministers 
and preachers are not aware of this.
The Trinity is not Biblical. The word Trinity is not even in the Bible or Bible 
dictionaries, was never taught by Jesus and 
was never mentioned by him. There is no basis or proof in the Bible whatsoever 
for the acceptance of the Trinity.
CHRISTIAN: But in Matthew 28:19 we still find: baptizing them in the name of 
the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. This part is not removed 
yet; is this not a proof of the Trinity?
MUSLIM: No. If you mention three persons are sitting or eating together, 
does it mean that they are forming one person? No. The formulation of the 
Trinity by Athanasius, an Egyptian deacon from Alexandria, was 
accepted by the Council of Nicaea in A.D. 325, i.e. more than three 
centuries after Jesus had left. No 
doubt Roman paganism had influence in this doctrine; the 
triune god; Sabbath was shifted to Sunday; December 
25, which was the birthday of their sun-god Mithra, was introduced as Jesus'

THE ALLEGED VIRTUES AND EXCELLENCES ARE NOT PECULIAR

TWELVE IMAMS ARE ALSO CHARACTERISED WITH THESE
VIRTUES. ACCORDING TO SHIAS NOTHING CAN REMAIN HIDDEN
FROM THE IMAMS ALTHOUGH THIS IS IN DIRECT CONFLICT
WITH THE TEACHINGS OF THE QUR'AN. IN THE QUR'AN IT IS
CLEARLY STATED AT VARIOUS PLACES THAT THE KNOWLEDGE OF
HIDDEN THINGS BELONGS TO ALLAH ONLY.

AS AND WHEN ALI R.A. AND HIS SONS WERE ELEVATED TO
THIS EXALTED AND DIVINE RANK, ON THE INSPIRATION OF
SATAN, IT WAS INEVITUABLE FOR SHI'AS TO MAKE ALI R.A
AND HIS SONS MASTERS OF THIS WORLD AND OF THE NEXT
ALSO. AND THE SHIAS ACTUALLY DID IT FOR THE PROGENY OF
ALI.

ALTHOUGH THE SHI'I CLERGY STOP SHORT OF GIVING THE
TITLE OF 'NABI' AND RASOOL' TO HADHRAT ALI AND THOSE
WHOM THEY CONSIDER TO BE MEMBERS OF THE LEAGUE OF
THEIR TWELVE IMAMS SUPPOSEDLY DIVINELY APPOINTED, THEY
CONFER THE OFFICE OF NUBUWWAH (PROPHETHOOD) ON HADHRAT
ALI AND ALL THE IMAAMS WHOM THEY REGARD AS DIVINELY
APPOINTED. BESIDES THE WORD, NABI, AND THE WORD
RASOOL, ALL OTHER ATTRIBUTES OF NUBUWWAH AND A NABI
ARE CONFERRED TO THE SHIA TWELVE IMAAMS BY THE SHIA
PRIESTS. IN FACT, THE DOCTRINE OF IMAAMATE OF THE
SHIAHS, IS AN EXTENSION OF NUBUWWAH, IN ALL ASPECTS,
BUT NAME. AS THE QADIANIS BELIEVE THAT THE WORLD
CANNOT BE WITHOUT A MAN OF THE CALIBRE OF A NABI, SO
TOO, BELIEVE THE SHIAHS. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
THE SHIAH AND QADIANI CONCEPTION OF NUBUWWAH IN REGARD
TO THE APPEARANCE OF A NABI AFTER MUHAMMAD (SALLALLAHU
ALAYHI WASSALLAM) IS THAT WHILE THE QADIANIS HAVE
MUSTERED UP SUFFICIENT AUDACITY TO PROCLAIM SUCH A MAN
AS A NABI, THE SHIAHS HAVE NOT. THEY DESIGNATE THEIR
MAN OF PROPHETHOOD, AN 'IMAAM' WHO IN THEIR RELIGION
POSSESSES ALL ATTRIBUTES AND QUALIFICATIONS OF A
FULL-FLEDGED NABI.

KHOMENI IN HIS BOOK (WHICH IS IN FACT A COLLECTION OF
HIS SPEACHES) WRITES TO THE EFFECT THAT ALI R.A WAS
THE FIRST CALIPH ACCORDING TO THE COMMANDMENT OF ALLAH
BUT INSTEAD HAZRAT ABU BAKAR R.A. WAS MADE THE CALIPH
AND HENCE THE CORRECT ISLAMIC SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT
COULD NOT BE ENFORCED. IN THE SAME BOOK KHOMENI
UN-EQUIVOCALLY DELARES THE SHIA BELIEF IN THE
FOLLOWING WORDS: IT IS ONE OF THE ESSENTIALS OF OUR
RELIGION THAT EACH OF THE IMAMS OCCUPIES A POSITION
WHICH NO ANGEL OR PROPHET COULD EVER ATTAIN. (IBID,
P. 52).

IF THE QADIANIS (AHMADIS) HAVE BEEN DECLARED OUTSIDE
THE PALE OF ISLAM ON ACCOUNT OF THE FACT THAT THEY DO
NOT RECOGNISE THE FINALITY OF PROPHETHOOD OF MUHAMMAD
(S.A.W.) WHAT COULD BE SAID OF THE SHIAS WHO CONSIDER
RASUL-ALLAH (SAW) AND OTHER PROPHETS INFERIOR TO THEIR
IMAMS?

INPACT INTERNATIONAL VOL. 14:16 REPORTS SOME
PREPOSTEROUS OBSERVATIONS MADE BY KHOMEINI AT THE
BIRTHDAY ANNIVERSARY OF THE SHI'I IMAM RAZA WHICH ARE
THE FOLLOWING:

(1) THE FAILURE TO ACHIEVE AN ISLAMIC SYSTEM OF
GOVERNMENT RIGHT FROM THE TIME OF RASULULLAH
(SALLALLAHU ALAYHI WASALLAM) UNTIL THE PRESENT DAY.
ACCORDING TO KHOMEINI THE ISLAMIC SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT
WAS NOT ACHIEVED EVEN BY RASULULLAH (SALLALLAHU ALAYHI
WASSALLAM).

(2) HADHRAT ALI (RADHIALLAHU ANHU) WAS NOT ALLOWED TO
REVEAL THE SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE WHICH HE OBTAINED FROM
RASULLULLAH (SALLALLAHU ALAYHI WASALLAM) AND THAT THIS
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE WAS APART FROM THE QUR'AN SHAREEF.

(3) HADHRAT ALI (RADHIALLAHU ANHU) AND THE IMAMS DID
NOT FIND ANYONE TO WHOM THEY COULD IMPART THEIR
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE QUR'AN.
THUS THIS SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE
QUR'AN DEPARTED WITH THE IMAMS.

(4) THE QUR'AN TODAY IS VEILED IN MYSTERY AND ITS
MEANINGS ARE HIDDEN.

(5) THE INTERPRETATIONS OF THE EXISTING QUR'AN, FROM
THE BEGINNING TO THE PRESENT, ARE NOT THE
INTERPRETATIONS OF THE QUR'AN BUT ARE TRANSLATIONS
WHICH RESEMBLE THE QUR'AN.

ALTHOUGH THESE ARE SHOCKING STATEMENTS OF KUFR, THEY
ARE NOT SUPRISING TO THOSE WHO HAVE MADE A STUDY OF
SHI'ISM. IN THE CLAIM THAT HADHRAT ALI (RADHIALLAHU
ANHU) WAS ENDOWED WITH SECRET KNOWLEDGE WHICH IS NOT
TO BE FOUND IN THE QUR'AN AND SUNNAH, IS THE
IMPLICATION THAT ISLAM IS IN AN IMPERFECT AND
INCOMPLETE STATE. FURTHERMORE, THE ALLEGATION THAT
HADHRAT ALI (RADHIALLAHU ANHU) WAS PREVENTED FROM
REVEALING THE KNOWLEDGE WHICH HE GAINED FROM
RASULULLAH (SALLALLAHU ALAYHI WASSALLAM) IMPLIES THAT
A CONSIDERABLE PART OF ISLAM IS MISSING AND HAVE
ALWAYS BEEN MISSING. THIS CLAIM NEGATES THE QURANIC
VERSE: THIS DAY HAVE I PERFECTED FOR YOU YOUR
DEEN.. (5:3).

IN VIEW OF THE SHI'I BLASPHEMOUS CLAIM THAT ON THE

Women
Empowerment: Islam and Contemporary Thoughts was the title of the seminar held
on 8th March 2006, the
International Womens day, at VIP lounge of the National Press club, Dhaka
Bangladesh. The seminar was organized by the Assembly for Protection of Hijab,
Bangladesh. The
invited guests and speakers discussed the topic from different perspectives,
leaving the audience appreciative to the alternative thoughts on Women
empowerment.

In the keynote paper Kaniz
Fatema of Darul
Ihsan
University defined women empowerment
as to have right and respect for freedom of opinion, to be economically
self-dependant, to have access and support towards career development and to
have mutual respect from the male counterpart in family and in social life. The
paper clarified Islamic point of view for each of these issues of women
empowerment and showed that Islam is never a barrier rather a facilitator to
such endeavors.

Dr. Syeda
Sultana Razia, Assistant Professor of BUET explained the objectives of Assembly
for Protection of Hijab. Dr. Razia
also discussed why hijab has become a human right issue and critical to Muslim
identity. She showed how hijab can facilitate women empowerment in a Muslim
majority country like
Bangladesh. She
also summarized the recent news of hijab ban in Muslim and non-Muslim countries
all over the world.

Rezwana Kursia of International
Islamic University of Chittagong analyzed the issues related to the rights of
Muslim women to receive maintenance in depth. She identified that with the
advancement of technology the nature of job has been changed. For example, in
intricate research work, in IT field etc, the job is less labour intensive and
more favourable for women than ever before. She maintained that the negative
attitude towards working women does not have base in Islam.

Elahi Newaz
Khan, President, Dhaka Journalists association emphasized on the difference
between the demand of secular women activists and the concept of womens rights in Islam. He added that
without alleviating poverty and illiteracy from the society the discrimination
against women cannot be stopped fully.

Professor
Chemon Ara, Language activist and former Principal of Eden College, said that
the breaking down of family and social value systems as well as un-Islamic
attitudes of women in social and family life are the main reasons for womens
discrimination in Muslim society.

Dr. Razia
Akhter Banu, Professor , Dhaka
University, discussed the womens
inheritance issue in Islam. She stated that women own one percent of the total wealth of
the World. In Islam women have God given rights of inheritance, Mahr,
maintenance; therefore, she believes, that at least in Muslim countries women
should possess a substantial amount of wealth if Islamic law were in practice.
Unfortunately this was not the fact.

of Bangladesh criticized the West since
West is maintianing a double standard about hijab. He pointed out that
they believe in freedom of _expression_ to such an extent that they can mock God
or Prophets at he same time they deny Muslim womens right to practice hijab. He
added that the modern Muslim societies now agree that it is high time women get
their God given rights. However, a lot more work and change of attitude towards
womens right are still needed to achieve that goal.

Chief guest
of the Seminar, Motiur rahman Nizami, Minister of Industries, Govt of Bangladesh,
called upon the women rights activists of our country to reevaluate their
attitude, concept and goal. He said that the Western World, although developed,
has failed to assure security to their women. Women trafficking, prostitution
and rape are part of their day-to day life. He emphasized that ultimately
Islamic state rule will be needed to establish all rights granted by Allah.

The seminar
was chaired by Justice Abdur Rauf, former chief election commissioner, Govt of
Bangldesh. He is also the president of Assembly for protection of
Hijab,
Bangladesh. He emphasized the need for rapid action
to grant full rights to all sections of the people.

Finally, M
A. Hannan, General Secretary of Assembly for protection of
Hijab,
Bangladesh wrapped up the
program with the vote of thanks to the guests, audience and the organizers.

The Emperor and The Seed

An emperor in the Far East was growing old and knew it was time to choose
his successor. Instead of choosing one of his assistants or his children, he decided
something different. He called young people in the kingdom together one day. He
said, It is time for me to step down and choose the next emperor. I have
decided to choose one of you.

The kids were shocked!
But the emperor continued. I am going to give each one of you a seed
today. One very special seed. I want you to plant the seed, water it and come
back here after one year from today with what you have grown from this one
seed. I will then judge the
plants that you bring,
and the one I choose will be the next emperor!

One boy named Ling was
there that day and he, like the others, received a seed. He went home and
excitedly told his mother the story. She helped him get a pot and planting
soil, and he planted the seed and watered it carefully. Every day he would
water it and watch to see if it had grown. After about three weeks, some of the
other youths began to talk about their seeds and the plants that were beginning
to grow.

Ling kept checking his
seed, but nothing ever grew. 3 weeks, 4 weeks, 5 weeks went by. Still nothing.
By now, others were talking about their plants but Ling didn't have a plant,
and he felt like a failure. Six months went by, still nothing in Ling's pot. He
just knew he had killed his seed.

Everyone else had
trees and tall plants, but he had nothing. Ling didn't say anything to his
friends, however. He just kept waiting for his seed to grow.

A year finally went by
and all the youths of the kingdom brought their plants to the emperor for
inspection. Ling told his mother that he wasn't going to take an empty pot. But
honest about what happened, Ling felt sick to his stomach, but he knew his
mother was right. He took his empty pot to the palace. When Ling arrived, he
was amazed at the variety of plants grown by the other youths. They were
beautiful in all shapes and sizes. Ling put his empty pot on the floor and many
of the other kinds laughed at him. A few felt sorry for him and just said,
Hey nice try.

When the emperor
arrived, he surveyed the room and greeted the young people. Ling just tried to
hide in the back. What great plants, trees and flowers you have
grown, said the emperor. Today, one of you will be appointed the
next emperor! All of a sudden, the emperor spotted Ling at the back of the
room with his empty pot. He ordered his guards to bring him to the front. Ling
was terrified. The emperor knows I'm a failure! Maybe he will have me
killed!

When Ling got to the
front, the Emperor asked his name. My name is Ling, he replied. All
the kids were laughing and making fun of him. The emperor asked everyone to
quiet down. He looked at Ling, and then announced to the crowd, Behold
your new emperor! His name is Ling! Ling couldn't believe it. Ling
couldn't even grow his seed. How could he be the new emperor?

Then the emperor said,
One year ago today, I gave everyone here a seed. I told you to take the
seed, plant it, water it, and bring it back to me today. But I gave you all
boiled seeds, which would not grow. All of you, except Ling, have brought me trees
and plants and flowers. When you found that the seed would not grow, you
substituted another seed for the one I gave you. Ling was the only one with the
courage and honesty to bring me a pot with my seed in it. Therefore, he is the
one who will be the new emperor!

If you plant honesty,
you will reap trust.
If you plant goodness,
you will reap friends.
If you plant humility,
you will reap greatness.
If you plant
perseverance, you will reap victory.
If you plant
consideration, you will reap harmony.
If you plant hard
work, you will reap success.
If you plant
forgiveness, you will reap reconciliation.
If you plant openness,
you will reap intimacy.
If you plant patience,
you will reap improvements.
If you plant faith,
you will reap miracles.

But
If you plant dishonesty,
you will reap distrust.
If you plant
selfishness, you will reap loneliness.
If you plant pride,
you will reap destruction.
If you plant envy, you
will reap trouble.
If you plant laziness,
you will reap stagnation.
If you plant bitterness,
you will reap isolation.
If you plant greed,
you will reap loss.
If you plant gossip,
you will reap enemies.
If you plant worries,
you will reap wrinkles.
If you plant sin, you
will reap guilt.

So be careful what you
plant now, It will determine what you

Compelling to One's ViewsIbn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy upon him, was asked about a person in authority, whose view is that partnerships involving shared labour are not permissible. Can he prevent the people from this?Ibn Taymiyyah replied: "He cannot prevent the people from this, nor from the likes of this, because it is from the permissible Ijtihad. Neither does he have any text from the Book, the Sunnah or the consensus to prevent this, especially when most of the scholars are of the view that the likes of this is actually
permissible; and this is what has been acted upon by the Muslims in their lands in general. This is just like a judge who is not allowed to negate the judgement of others in the likes of such issues, nor is it for the scholar or the muftee to compel the people to follow him in the likes of such an issue. This is why when ar-Rasheed sought from Malik that the people should all adopt his al-Muwatta in the likes of these issues, the latter prevented him from this and said:"The Companions of Allah's Messenger, peace be upon him, spread out into different regions; so each community took the knowledge that reached them."Once a person wrote a book about the various different opinions, so Ahmad said:"Do not call it the book of differences (kitaabul-ikhtilaaf), rather call it the book of leeway (kitaabus-sa`ah)."`Umar ibn `Abdul-`Azeez said:"What would make me feel uneasy is if the Companions of Allah's Messenger, peace be upon him, did not differ. Since when they concur upon an issue, then anyone who opposes them will be considered a deviant. But if they differ, then one person can adopt one of their views, whilst the other can adopt the other view; hence there would be flexibility in this matter."Likewise, Malik and other scholars have said:"It is not for the scholar to compel the people to adopt his views."This is why scholars who wrote books about ordering the good and forbidding the evil - from the followers of ash-Shafi and others - have stated: Indeed there is to be no forbidding with the hand in the likes of such issues of ijtihad, nor is it for anyone to compel the people to follow him in his view. However, he may speak about it with knowledge-based proofs. Whoever then sees the correctness of one of the two views, after it being clarified to him, may then follow it.
