  One day a man came to see the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon 
him. It seemed that he was trying to solve something but couldn't quite work it 
out. So he asked the Prophet. ''Tell me, O Prophet!'' I have many relatives and 
many friends whom I love, and whom I wish to care for and help. But I often 
find it difficult to decide which of them has the greatest claim upon me? Which 
of them should come first?'' The Prophet replied immediately, ''Your mother 
should come first and before all others.''
The man was very pleased to have this clear guidance from the Prophet. But 
of course there were all his other relatives and his friends, so he asked ''and 
after my mother, who has the greatest claim upon me?'' The Prophet's reply this 
second time surprised him. ''Your mother!'' he said again.

The man wondered why the Prophet was repeating himself. Perhaps he had not 
spoken clearly, the man thought, so he asked the question again, ''What I want 
to know is, after my mother, who has the greatest claim upon me? Again the 
Prophet said ''your mother!''



Your mother, your mother,
   
   
   your mother!
 

The Prophet had now said it three times. Slowly, the man realized why he 
had done so. ''The Prophet means that my mother is extremely important, so much 
so that my duty to her must be stressed over and over again. Even so, the man's 
thoughts ran on, ''what about all the others I love and wish to care for?'' 
Still uncertain and wanting to know more, he once again turned to the Prophet 
and said, ''and after my mother, who comes after her? Is there anyone besides 
her?'' The Prophet then replied ''after your mother, your father.'' ''And 
then?'' asked the man. ''Then people who are nearest to you,'' said the 
Prophet. Allah's peace and blessings be upon the Prophet.

*Muslims should change political strategy: Popular Front*
*  *The annual meeting of the National General Assembly of
Popular Front of India called upon Muslims in India to change their election
strategy of shifting supports among various political parties and to
concentrate in the political empowerment of the community. They were
supporting one secular party or other with the sole aim of defeating the
fascist and communal parties in elections. This strategy has failed to
establish their rights in the country's policy setting and resource
distribution. While in power, these parties not only failed to arrest
communal fascist forces, but they even adopted pro-Hindutva policies as
against the norms of equity and justice.   The Muslims have become just
cannon fodder for the secular parties which promptly ignored the Muslim
issues and their problems once the elections are over. This experience of
the last six decades warrants serious rethinking by all the Muslim
organizations and political groups. They should initiate steps to
politically consolidate the Muslims in coalition with other equally deprived
sections of the society for their rightful share in political power. The
pressure group tactics exercised so far by certain Muslim sections are no
longer a solution to Muslim political deprivation. The success stories of
some dalit and backward castes in gaining political strength and exercising
power in North India contain lessons for Muslim leaders and masses to learn.
It is also noteworthy that in all the political formulations that have
emerged in the name of Dalits-Backward Classes–Minorities political
empowerment, Muslims have been denied equity and justice in sharing of power
as well as resources. The meeting also requested all the citizens and social
groups of this country to support the Muslim right to political empowerment
through adequate representation.

In another resolution the meeting of strongly deplored the recent launching
of an Israeli military satellite by ISRO. This is in effect a tacit approval
of the inhuman acts Israel has inflicted upon helpless Palestinians under
Zionist occupation. Israel is the only rogue state in the world which
consistently trampled upon the basic civil and democratic rights of the
Palestinians under her occupation and violated all international treaties
and covenants. Our relationship with this client state of the US is against
the basic morals and principles of the foreign policy set by our great
leaders and thinkers. Popular Front appealed the Government of India to
severe the unethical ties with this settled state with immediate effect.

  The meeting expressed anguish over the imposition of severe
bail conditions on certain under trial prisoners in the Second Marad Case
while granting bail after their prolonged imprisonment lasted for nearly
five years. The under-trials in this case belong to very poor fishing
community who do not have money or influence to raise the security or to
arrange rented houses within 3 kilometres of the Special Court as stipulated
in the bail order. The High Court of Kerala has just granted bail in purely
legalistic manner without taking into account the inability of the under
trials to post bond or other securities. The meeting observed that it
contravenes the spirit of various orders passed by the Supreme Court to be
lenient towards the under trials when considering bail petitions.

The annual meeting held at Green Valley campus at Manjeri in Kerala on
26thand 27
th January started with the inaugural speech by the Chairman of the
organization E. Abubacker. The General Secretary E. M. Abdurahman submitted
the annual report. The report observed that the constituent state
organizations of Popular Front in Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu have
considerably increased their membership and gained much more public
support.   A. Saeed delivered a lecture on Dimensions of Democratic
Resistance. A. M. M. Shafi, Mohammed Ali Jinnah, K. M. Shareef and T.
Abdurahman Baqavi lead organizational discussions.  K. M. Shareef
(Mangalore) was elected as the Vice Chairman of the organization. Sheik
Mohammed Dehlan Baqavi (Thirunelveli) and M. Mohamed Ismail (Chennai) were
elected to the vacant posts in the National Executive Council.

  Few days ago, I had a chat  with brother Jibril Aqil Ali. He introduce 
himself as a Latino Muslim. I was so happy to chat with him. I truly believe 
that converts to Islam are one of the few bright spots in our Islamic Ummah. I 
asked brother Jibril to send me his story. He graciously accepted, and here is 
his story:
   
  After my separation of marriage of 10 years, my biggest regret was not 
instilling or sharing the knowledge of God as I knew him as a believer in 
Christianity with my wife and more importantly my children who are most dear to 
me whom which I had dedicated to God as I knew Him then. My oldest brother 
"Ali" Martinez was the first and only Muslim in our family at the time and he 
had converted to Islam while Imprisoned in  1977 and was my first influence who 
shared his belief in stages to me. The second in our family was my Nephew 
"Hakim Malik" Toro who took Shahada in 1987 as a 5% Nation Member and came to 
True Islam taught by the Prophet (PBUH) while incarcerated. He shared his 
knowledge of Islam in stages also with me. I became a father 1st in 1997 and I 
named my first born "Imanuel Jabril" Martinez out of respect for Christianity, 
Islam and the family. My second was born in  2001 and was named "Issac Ali" 
Martinez. Now my brother Ali was killed in 1992 in the Bronx New
 York and many of the Christian members of our family in some ways blamed Islam 
for his death and for my nephews incarceration and then came "911". so I 
continued my life walking in limbo so to speak and practiced neither until my 
separation of marriage and a motorcycle accident that left me Spleenless and 
near amputated leg looking to God and believe it or not, Thanking The Almighty 
for it all. So I went to my ex-wife one day and apologized and expressed to her 
my regret of not sharing nearly enough religion with her in all our years 
together especially due to the fact that she is from Cuba and had so little 
knowledge of God and religion. So I expressed to her my desire to live a 
righteous life and teach our children like wise  and asked if she would aid me. 
I told her that I was sorry for buying her a Bible that was in "old Spanish" 
and difficult to understand and that if I bought her a newer Spanish version 
would she read it and help me raise the children in the
 knowledge Of God? She answered "No. I don't think so and frankly don't bother' 
She had no interest. I told her fine but not to interfere with me and (raising 
in the knowledge of God) the Boys when they are with me. I went home that night 
and wept and prayed and demanded that God show me once and for all "AM I A 
CHRISTIAN, MUSLIM, BUDDHIST, JEW, JEDI OR WHAT?" Because I did not want my 
children to suffer in this life or the after life because of my ignorance. In 
order to teach them I had to be taught and I had to be right. So I typed into 
my Netflix account search: Islam, God,  Christianity, Judaism etc. went on line 
and did the same and read all I could and watched all I could on the matter and 
most of all prayed. I visited the local Mosque and got literature on Islam. I 
read very briefly about Jesus and the divinity being conceived in 325 a.d in a 
foot note but didn't think much more about it for I had a lot of videos to 
watch. I started to see the Truth that the culture
 and practice of Islam was not at all how the media portrayed it. It was not 
intimidating but actually quite inviting. It was beautiful, peaceful, powerful 
and oh so Inspiring. But the Christ and the divinity issue was so strongly 
instilled in me it held me back. I needed to know and understand more. Then 
"It" arrived. The video "History Channel's a History of God" a search for 
monotheism: Jews, Christians and Muslims. It talked in dept about the myths of 
Christmas and and Christ and the divinity and the "Trinity" and "The Counsel of 
Nicea" That The trinity and divinity of Christ came 325 a.d. That was It. I 
took Shahada right there and then. I went to the Mosque the following Friday 
03/30/07 after calling my nephew and sharing what I have learned and asking him 
to go with me. I took the Qu'ran and Islam and ran with it and have been 
running ever since Alhumdullillah. That's My story in brief. Asalmu Alaikum and 
Jazak Allahu Khairun for your time.

Kanpur, April 24 : Islam stood up against oppression, exploitation, injustice 
and inequality 1400 years ago; so to coin the term 'Islamic terrorism' today is 
a well planned conspiracy of communalists, said renowned social activist Teesta 
Setalvad in Kanpur.

Addressing a conference on 'Truth of allegations of terrorism against Muslims' 
on 20th April, Setalvad said there is no clash between Islam and democracy. 
Islam has always been against violence and it has restored human rights and 
women's rights. Such a religion can not have any relation with terrorism. The 
slogan of 'Islamic terrorism' seems to have been coined by a communalist mind, 
she said.

Speaking as the chief guest, Setalvad, who played a pivotal role in bringing 
some justice to the victims of Gujarat 2002 pogrom, said Muslims, Christians, 
Adivasis and Dalit classes need to struggle jointly by forming a front to 
secure their rights.

Addressing the gathering, Member of Parliament Maulana Mahmood Madani said if 
minorities overcome their linguistic and class-based differences, communalism 
can never survive.

Articulating his views, vice-president of Milli Council Maulana Yaseen Usmani 
said Islam completely negates negative thinking and extremism. He said Islam is 
a peace-loving religion and does not have even any remote relation with 
terrorism.

Associating Islam with terrorism is an organized conspiracy of anti-Muslim 
forces. Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahalli, Dr. John Dayal and Ameer of 
Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadees Asghar Ali Imam Mehdi also expressed their views in 
the convention.

  I grew up in a village/town who happened to be incidentally christian
  but surrounded from all sides by Druzes villages . 
  Therefore I may pretend to be "socially a Druze" ,
  as being a sub-culture  within the Lebanese-culture 
  which ,in its turn, is 100% Arab .
   
  My Uncle was a co-founder of the Progressist Socialist Party
  but left it soon in 1957 when he found out that it is rather more Druze
  than ever being Socialist.
  And with all due respect I have for the Druzes , 
  I have never met any person of them who was Socialist 
  nor ,  at least , acted as one.
   
  On the other hand ,
  I have never met any member of the Lebanese-Forces
  who was not a smuggler , in any way or another .
   
   
  In 1982 the Lebanese Forces entered my hometown following the
  Israeli Tanks and took over my town. 
  They stayed 15 months there and have bombed with their artillery 
  almost all the surrounding-villages where the Druzes lived.
   
  When the Israeli withdrew in 1983 , from my hometown , 
  the Lebanese-forces followed them  only 2 hours later .
  Most of the population fled fearing the revenge by the Socialist-Druzes
  so only the elderly stayed , too old and too week to flee away.
   
  One day later ,
  Jumblat's Druzes backed by Israeli-army's druzes came into my hometown
  and slaughtered 262 persons because they could not find more than 262 .
   
  That was 1983 ..and now 25 years later Walid Joumblat 
  head of the Socialist-party made 98% from Druzes became an ally 
  to Samir Jeajea head of the same Lebanese-Forces made out of 80% Maronite 
  and another 20% of opportunist-Christians.(and smugglers)
   
   
  My fellow citizens of my hometown were banned to come back home
  for 11 years until 1992 and stayed as refugees inside Lebanon.
  Those who were nationalist and or leftist lived in Muslim Beirut
  and those with fascist-tendencies went to live with the Christians.
  Now both are back to my hometown and coexist and live side by side.
   
  This afternoon ,thanks to the God-sent-Hezbollah forces,
  I hear at the news that my Area is to be cleansed from
  Jumblat and the jumblatists (who pretended Socialism...)
   
   
  You will understand that today is a day of feast to me
  and I loved to share it with you
  especially when we all remember this week the NAKBA
   
  Good news is always welcome !! 
   
  I do not wish the death of Jumblat
  but would like him to stand trial for what he has done to
  Socialism and to his Druzes and to his Lebanon
  and what has he  previously arranged and pre-arranged
  with those Israeli officers who were not even ashamed to park 
  their IDF jeeps in front of his residence.
   
  As for my 262 slaughtered extended-family-tribe
  I leave it to God's judgement day.
   
  In the meantime 
  I hope and wish that the Druze-individuals
  shall not have to pay for the sins of a Walid Jumblat.

  It is narrated that a Sahabi (companion of Prophet) was suffering from worry 
and owed some debts, the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallah) instructed him to 
recite the dua. The Sahabi says that I recited it and Allah removed my worry 
and enabled me to repay my debts. 
   
  Also, recite the dua below, after every obligatory salah with your palm on 
forehead:
  ÈÓã ÇááÀ ÇáÐی áÇ ÇáÀ ÇáÇ ªæ ÇáÑÍãä ÇáÑÍیã¡ Çááªã ÇÐªÈ Úäی 
Çáªã æÇáÍÒä 
  And, read Istighfar (repentance to Allah) much often, as it is in Hadith that 
one who keeps on reciting Istighfar Allah relieves him from every grief and 
give him sustenance through the ways he never expected.

  There is one Amal known as Hirz Abi Dujanah. This is experienced by pious 
people of Allah. Hazrat Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi had mentioned it in Bahishti

The covering of one's nakedness (awra) is of utmost importance for a male and 
female in Islam, thus the Qur'an and Sunnah have laid great emphasis with 
regards to this. We also see the various books of Islamic Jurisprudence (fiqh) 
discussing the issues relating to the Awra of both the male and female in great 
detail. In this brief article, I will attempt to shed some light and look 
comprehensively as to what is a woman's Awra. 

Awra is an Arabic term the plural of which is Awrat. Linguistically, it means a 
hidden and secret place, and a person's Awra is that which must be kept hidden. 
It also refers to everything that causes shame when exposed, thus, the Awra of 
an individual is the area of the body which (normally) causes embarrassment if 
exposed. (Ibn Manzur, Lisan al-Arab, 9/370).

In the terminology of Islamic Jurisprudence, Awra refers to the area or part of 
the body that must be covered with appropriate clothing. In the English 
language, it is normally translated as 'nakedness' or 'area of the body that 
must be concealed'. Many people (normally form the Indo/pak) refer to it as 
'Satar'. For the purpose of simplicity, I will use the term 'Awra' in this 
article, Insha Allah.

THE AWRA OF A WOMAN
A woman's Awra can be initially divided into two categories:
  1) Inside prayer 
  2) Outside prayer 
  The latter is then divided into further sub-categories:
  a) In seclusion 
  b) In front of the husband 
  c) In front of Muslim women 
  d) In front of Mahram males (unmarriageable kin) 
  e) In front of non-Mahram males 
  f) In front of non-Muslim women 
  g) In front of non-Muslim Mahram males 
  1) Awra inside prayer (Salat)

A woman's Awra whilst performing Salat consists of the whole body except the 
face, hands and feet. Allah Most High says: "O children of Adam! Wear your 
beautiful apparel (zeenah) at every time and place of prayer." (Surah 
al-A'raf, 31)

The majority of the Companions (Allah be pleased with them all), their 
followers (tabi'un), Jurists and exegetes of the Qur'an have deduced from this 
verse (along with the other evidences) the obligation of covering one's Awra in 
prayer. (See: Abu Bakr ibn al-Arabi, Ahkam al-Qur'an, 4/205, Ma'arif al-Qur'an 
(English), 3/565)

Sayyida Aisha (Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah 
(Allah bless him & give him peace) said: "Allah does not accept the prayer of a 
woman who experiences menstruation (i.e. who has reached puberty, m) except 
with a head cover (khimar)." (Sunan Abu Dawud, no. 641, Sunan Tirmidhi, Sunan 
Ibn Majah and others)

The great Hanafi jurist, Imam al-Haskafi (Allah have mercy on him) states in 
his renowned Durr al-Mukhtar:

"The Awra for a free woman (i.e. not a slave, m) is her full body including her 
descending hair according to the correct opinion, except for the face, 
hands and feet". (See Radd al-Muhtar, 1/405).

I was womndering if it is true that there is no evidence that there is no trace 
of a Qu'ran being written in the 7 th century 


Answer: 

Praise be to Allaah. 

This is a false and incorrect statement made by those who try to find faults 
with Islam so as to put people off this religion. It is sufficient to know that 
Allaah has guaranteed to preserve the Qur'aan, as He says (interpretation of 
the meaning): 

"Verily, We, it is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e. the Qur'aan) and 
surely, We will guard it (from corruption)." [al-Hijr 15:9] 

Moreover, the fact that the transmission of the Qur'aan by memory and in 
writing was mutawaatir _ narrated by groups to groups [to such an extent that 
so many people could not conceivably have agreed upon a lie] _ is well known to 
anyone who has the slightest acquaintance with Islamic knowledge, especially 
knowledge of recitations and reciters. 

There are still many people nowadays who have learned the Qur'aan orally, with 
isnaads directly going back to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be 
upon him). 

One of the miracles of Allaah's protection of the Qur'aan is the fact that 
those who try to tamper with it are always found out. 

The point is, everything that was revealed to the Prophet (peace and blessings 
of Allaah be upon him) was written down in front of him straight away, and some 
of the Sahaabah had masaahif (written copies of the Qur'aan). After the death 
of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), the first 
khaleefah, Abu Bakr al-Siddeeq (may Allaah be pleased with him) gathered the 
Qur'aan in written and kept it. Then the third khaleefah, `Uthmaan ibn `Affaan 
(may Allaah be pleased with him) compiled it in mus-hafs that were based on the 
mus-haf compiled by Abu Bakr, in addition to what had been memorized. 

When we realize that the Qur'aan was written down and compiled by the Sahaabah, 
and `Uthmaan sent copies of the Mus-haf during his reign to all the main 
centres of Islam, so that it would be a reference for them, and there were no 
disputes concerning them, then how can we say that there is no written trace of 
the Qur'aan in the seventh century? Moreover, there are several ancient 
manuscripts of the Qur'aan in libraries and museums which bear visible 
testimony to the fact that nothing has been changed in the Book of Allaah. 
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): 

"And verily, it is an honourable wellfortified respected Book (because it is 
Allaah's Speech, and He has protected it from corruption). Falsehood cannot 
come to it from before it or behind it, (it is) sent down by the AllWise, 
Worthy of all praise (Allaah)." 

[Fussilat 41:41-42] 

And Allaah knows best.

calls to guidance will have a reward similar to the reward of the one who 
follows him, without the reward of either of them being lessened at all."
