[Issue 127178] New: Inconsistence behavior of active pop-up windows on 2 screens (extended display view).
https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=127178 Issue ID: 127178 Issue Type: DEFECT Summary: Inconsistence behavior of active pop-up windows on 2 screens (extended display view). Product: Writer Version: 4.1.3 Hardware: PC OS: Windows 10 Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: Normal Priority: P5 (lowest) Component: viewing Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org Reporter: jakub.hara...@testpartners.co.uk Created attachment 85748 --> https://bz.apache.org/ooo/attachment.cgi?id=85748=edit File for screen1 Environment: OS Name: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro Version: 10.0.14393 Build 14393 Processor: AMD FX(tm)-8120 Eight-Core Processor, 3100 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s) Installed Physical Memory (RAM): 8.00 GB Issue is related to Issue 91398 which is fixed (unconfirmed). Issue found on double screen view (extended display view), when main screen1 on the left and second screen2 on the right). When investigating this issue I realised that popup windows behaviour is not consistent for many Writer tabs/settings. It seems that Writer remembers for many windows where actually the window was closed and it will open next time where it was closed (even divided on a two screens). I attached two “odt” files which I used for the testing on two screens. Steps to reproduce issue 1.Open two attached files (Screen 1, Screen 2). E.g. “Screen 1”on your main screen and “Screen 2” on your second screen (you can open them on fullscreen for better visibility but is not mandatory). 2.When Screen 1 is active click “F7” on your keyboard to open spellchecker. 3.Spellchecker opens in the middle of the FIRST screen 4.Close the spellchecker and make your second screen active and click “F7” again. 5.Spellchecker opens in the middle of the SECOND screen. 6.Now repeat the steps 1-4 for “F1” button (to open help). 7.The second time when you open the Help window it opens in the same place where it was when you were opening it for the first time not in the middle of the second screen. You can even move the window to a different place. I have done the test for a few windows to check how they handle this issue. Tested “Writer” windows which open incorrectly (where it was last time open) are: Help Tools -> Options Format -> Columns Also I have checked this issue for other OpenOffice products. For example: Calc •“Open” (ctrl+O)where it was last time closed (even divided on two screens if you open on screen one and close it on screen 2) •Tools->Options as well Draw •Help where it was closed •Tools->Options as well I have also noticed a little bit different result for affected areas if you change settings for extended display view (like screen2 is your main screen) Issue can be quite annoying when you work with few documents on two screens as it is hard to remember where pop up window was opened last time. I think that the best solution would be to always open the windows in the active screen (on the screen on which you look at the time of opening it), so you will not have to look for it each time. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the issue.

[Issue 118983] Wrong user name when opening file already Opened by OOo
https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=118983 Kathrin Schellmannchanged: What|Removed |Added CC||kathrin_schellmann@hotmail. ||com --- Comment #6 from Kathrin Schellmann --- Kathrin Schellmann retesting this issue on the 22.10.2016 For my tests I used two computers: 1. Windows 10 Pro N 64bit with Open Office 4.12 [(Build:9782) - Rev. 1709696] and MS Office 2007 [(12.06758.5000) SP3 MSO (12.0.6755.5000)] 2. Windows 10 Pro 64bit with Open Office 4.12 [(Build:9782) - Rev. 1709696] and MS Office 2007 [(12.0.4518.1014) MSO (12.0.4518.1014)] I prepared several documents for my tests and stored them in a folder that was shared in the network: •ODS (made in MS Excel and in OpenOffice) •ODT (made in MS Word and in OpenOffice) •ODP (made in MS Power Point and in OpenOffice) •DOC (made in MS Word and in OpenOffice) •DOCX (made in MS Word) •XLS (made in MS Excel and in OpenOffice) •XLSX (made in MS Excel) •PPT (made in MS Power Point and in OpenOffice) •PPTX (made in MS Power Point) Test steps: 1. Open a document on PC 1 with user1 2. Open the same document on PC 2 with user2 Results: Opening the document in the same office suite on both computers, e.g. in OpenOffice, results in the correct current user name (user1) shown in the 'document in use' info box. Opening the document in a different office suite on both computers (e.g. MS Word on PC 1 and Open Office on PC 2) results in "unknown user" (AOO)/"different user" (MS Office) shown in the 'document in use' info box instead of the correct current user name. All the above-mentioned formats showed the same behaviour. Creating one format in different office suites did not change the outcome of the test; A DOC file made in MS Word behaved the same as one made in OpenOffice. I could not recreate the bug with the wrong user shown in the 'document in use' info box, but that might be my lack of more users in my network. Expected results: Opening a document in different office suites on multiple computers at the same time shows the correct current user name in the 'document in use' info box. Opening a document that is currently in use is a frequent occurrence in a company where multiple users work on the same document. Knowing who exactly works on it, makes it possible to make faster arrangements to release the document for another user and it helps with trouble-shooting in case the document is still locked although it was saved & closed by the previous user. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the issue.

https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=124843 Niklas Holmströmchanged: What|Removed |Added CC||niklas_1...@live.se --- Comment #6 from Niklas Holmström --- Environment: Windows 10 64-bit Home edition (version 10.0.14393). Microsoft Office Word 2007 version 12.0.6758.5000 AOO412m3(Build:9782) - Rev. 1709696 Hi! I was able to reproduce this problem on AOO 4.1.2. I noticed that the sample file document attached contains a table on page two. And as far as I can see this is a trigger for this problem. If a table is inserted at the very beginning of the second page (the one in landscape), you will get this problem. Step-by-step: 1. Open Microsoft Office Word (I used Word 2007) 2. Create a new empty document. 3. Add some text (or not) to the first page, this page should be in portrait. 4. Add a new page to the document, that is in landscape. 5. Add a basic table in the first line of the page.(Number of columns and rows doesn't appear to matter.) 6. Save the document as a .docx file. 7. Open it in AOO writer, and compare the output. Problem: There are actually several problems here, depending on if the first page was left empty or not. 1. When the first page contains text, and the second page contains a table (like in Test3.docx, Test4.docx and Test5.docx): - The second page is displayed in portrait, and the table will stretch outside the document. 2. When the first page is empty, and the second page contains a table (like in Test6.docx): - The first page is missing, and the second page is rotated to portrait. And the table will stretch outside the document. 3. When the first page contain text, and the second page contain first text then a table (like Test2.docx): - The second page will remain in landscape, but the table will stretch slightly outside the boarders of the document. Additional information: I've attached 6 different .docx test files, all created and displayed properly in Microsoft Office 2007. In these files it's only the Test1.docx that seems to be displayed properly, all other files suffer from some of the problems mentioned above. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the issue.

[Issue 126980] Crashes Page Styles
https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=126980 Matthias Seidelchanged: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |FIXED Status|REOPENED|RESOLVED --- Comment #42 from Matthias Seidel --- (In reply to David Paenson from comment #41) > Writer also regularly crashes when, within Navigator, you attempt to Promote > or Demote a chapter. Perhaps this is related: the capacity to open parallel > processes, be it Style formatting or the Navigator, seems to me to be the > problem. There are several crashes related to this one. But the code is fixed in trunk, so no need to reopen the issue. You may install 4.2.0dev to see if your problem is solved. If not please open a separate issue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the issue.
[Issue 126575] Changing font info in outline causes entire section to change
https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=126575 Antti-Pekka Tuovinenchanged: What|Removed |Added CC||aptuovi...@gmail.com --- Comment #7 from Antti-Pekka Tuovinen --- OO Writer version info: Apache OpenOffice 4.1.2 AOO412m3(Build:9782) - Rev. 1709696 2015-10-21 09:53:29 (Mi, 21 Okt 2015) OS version info: Windows 10 Home Version 1607 64 bit I have consistently but only partially reproduced the font change behavior described by Mark but using Gennady's file. Steps: 1. Open the file in Writer 2. Click the beginning of the outline text "__construct()" on the third line so that you see the cursor at the beginning of the text 3. Click the "Numbering On/Off" button in the toolbar and see the text move to the left margin 4. Click the "Numbering On/Off" button again 5. You will now see that the text is on the first outline level at (2.) and that the number is in the Courier font which is the same font as in the text on the sixth line (i.e. "$ebiz = ..."), but the size appears to be a couple of points smaller. 6. Hit the Tab key two times and you will see the same view as when opening the document, except that the font of the third level outline number is Courier (the same as in the text on the sixth line) and smaller in size than the other outline numbers If after step 5, I select by double clicking the number 2, Writer shows all the outline numbers at the same level highlighted on a gray background, and the "Font Name" shown in the toolbar is "Times New Roman" and the "Font Size" is 12. I have included a screenshot of the Writer window after the 6. step. I have the "Nonprinting characters" and "Hidden paragraphs" selected in the View menu. I have also tested with "Nonprinting characters" and "Hidden paragraphs" not selected with the same results However, if I save the file and then close it and reopen it, the font of the number "1.1.1" on the third line is back to Times. But if I repeat the steps described above, the font of the number changes again to Courier. As an additional test, I exported the document directly to pdf by clicking the corresponding toolbar button, and I noticed that the number is in Courier in the pdf. I attach the screenshot and the pdf here. I attach also a copy of Gennady's file where I have executed the steps explained above and then saved it. I am not sure if it matters to have the changed file but just in case. As a final remark, I think that this issue is related to (maybe duplicate of) the confirmed but unfixed (P4 Trivial) Issue 24648 " Numbering: layout can be fooled into using formatting for numbering which is not used in a paragraph". Because the issue has come up a again and it is causing a user to switch to use another product, I propose to reconsider the priority of Issue 24648 and fix it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the issue.
