just play along and adjust the name of the remote box in your config.
optionally, you can also adjust the local name and rename the maildir.
Renaming the remote box resolved the issue.

However, my mu4e interface still reports that I have 55000 odd messages whereas
it normally reported around 35000. So this is potentially another issue to deal
with. Perhaps it will sort itself out.

ok, that was of course a stupid request from me, as the output was
predictable.
instead, create a channel like this:

Group gmail
Channel gmail-inbox
Channel gmail-sent
Channel gmail-trash
Channel gmail-all

Hello,
I am getting the following error message with mbsync -a:
Error: channel gmail-trash: master [Gmail]/Bin cannot be opened.
I have had this for several days, and mail marked for deletion in mu4e is
accumulating. This problem arrived suddenly, for no apparent reason, after my
present set-
computer using another email program such as Thunderbird? Is best
practice to only flag messages from within isync? I am wondering
if checking my email and deleting emails outside of isync could
have caused the problem.

Okay, I was able to direct -D to a file, but it is 6MB. Will the
list permit an attachment of that size?

Hello,
I have seen several threads relating to similar syncing issues
