Were you running the stock Edgy kernel? Our attempt to compile
That's exactly the kernel I was using, and it was a custom compile just
to get up to the current ivtv driver. The machine has since died and I
haven't taken the time to recover it. But that has nothing to do with
ivtv.

I'm impressed. Recent Gentoo with Xorg 7.1.1, gcc 4.1.1 and kernel
2.6.20. ivtv version 0.10.0. The slow menu is gone and goom runs faster
as I've ever seen. Thank you, John. Great work. Had to update linux
headers to 2.6.20 because of problems with videodev2.h.

Hi all,
Just before John Harvey went on vacation he delivered a first Xdriver
version that supports Xorg 7.x (as well as older Xorg/Xfee86 servers).
It's available for download here:

It's only been tested against 7.1 servers so any
I compiled this today on Ubuntu Edgy on an old Celeron I use as a Mythtv
frontend. Had to install most if not all of the x11proto-???-dev
packages and relink my kernel includes. However, it compiled just fine
at that point. Mythtv menus are no longer noticeably slow. You can't
see them
