Maybe it is only the name that makes you wonder, that we have no
glibs:
The devel package:
+/choeger $ rpm -q libc
libc-2.1.3-134
The shared libs:
+/choeger $ rpm -q shlibs
shlibs-2.1.3-134

Of course you ahve to be root to do it.
I suggest to do the following as root:
echo "echo 0 > /proc/sys/vm/heap-stack-gap" >> /sbin/init.d/boot.local
So this will switch off this feature during each boot process.

Hi,
it seems that the problem is Andrea Arcangeli's
silent-stack-overflow-3 patch. He suggests to try the following:
echo 0 > /proc/sys/vm/heap-stack-gap
I can't test it now, because I am at home now, but I'll test it
tomorrow.

I produced two strace logs (vanilla and SuSE kernel) for him to
examine. Let's wait for the guru's answer... :-)

strace is similar to the already posted one. I'm not a system-hacker,
sorry. I am also not from SuSE Labs, but I will try to contact them.

Solution:
There are twopossibilitiesto use JavaWorkshop despite the
presence of the new library :
- Install the package ldso.rpm of a former version of S.u.S.E.
Linux.
- Displace the file
