XFree86 3.3.2 (I installed all the
updates) my X server won't start as a regular user (I can start it as root).
When I run X as a regular user I get:
xf86OpenConsole: Server must be running with root permissions.
You should be using Xwrapper to start the server or xdm.
Where to find Xwrapper or what is wrong?

Hi
Does anyone has experience in passing a class as a parameter in java?
I want to do something like call a method with as parameter a class name and
then create instances of that class in that method. Is this possible?

with the width
parameter (new JTextField(width)).
Does anyone know of a possibility using layout managers to inhibit this
stretching of fields?
I don't want to resort to absolute positioning because this involves a lot
of work and because my form template now is independant of the data
kage.

I have a question concerning JFC. I'm
using blackdown's jdk1.1.6v2 on RH5.1, and everything is working fine. I can
compile the *.java files and run it using 'java classname'. But that is not
the case with Swing component (Swing1.0.3). I compile a file that use Swing
about the same amount solved. Now this
is also because swing is back in beta with swing 1.1.

is 1.1.6v4a.
The linux box with X installed is a Redhat 4.2, the linux box without X
installed is a Redhat 5
So my question: is it possible to run a java based app without X installed?
Does anybode have an idea how to run a java app without X installed?

ember well, libXp.so.6 is introduced in Xfree86 3.3.2 and a number
of people running Xfree86 3.3.1 had this very same problem with java. Are
you sure your Xfree86 version is 3.3.2? I have 3.3.2-1 and it works, so
maybe you'll have to upgrade your Xfree86 system a bit.

Hi
Does anyone on this list have some experience with Java Blend? Although
Sun's anouncement looks promising ("to simplify entreprise database
development"), I find the product rather expensive (and it is a version
1.0).
