[JAWS-Users] Re: Skype Tool Bar
Hi when you install a program some programs give you the option to install or not to install the verious toolbars, providing you've installed them, or your not sure, going to the add remove programs part of the system will help if you can find it down there as it is a volenterry program's question asking you if you want to install the toolbar no matter what the program is, then this means there will be a seperate installer for the toolbar and what you do is go down the add/remove programs list and if you come across anything that says tool bar in it's discription like example, Google, discription, internet Google Toolbar, then you tab across to change/remove, or it may just be remove. and then hit enter on it keep doing this until you get rid of all the tool bars that you want rid of and then close the window with Alt F4, this F4, is Function key f4, located on the top row of the keyboard 5 keys from the left side top row. then restart your computer this should solve problems with regards to the toolbars speak to you later from John and guide dog Iris - Original Message - From: "Donnie Parrett" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Wednesday, March 28, 2007 12:34 AM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Skype Tool Bar > > Hey JR, > > How do I tell if I have a Skype tool bar, and if so, how do I get rid of > it? > > Contact me at: > Donnie Parrett > 1956 Asa Flat Road > Annville, KY 40402 > Home # 606-364-3321 > Cell # 606-438-2557 > Church # 606-364-PRAY > Skype Name: Donnie1261 > Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > > -Original Message- > From: jaws-users-list@googlegroups.com > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of JR and guide dog > Iris > Sent: Tuesday, March 27, 2007 3:37 PM > To: jaws-users-list@googlegroups.com > Subject: [JAWS-Users] Re: Anybody using Google toolbar successfully? > > > > Hi > I personally think tool bars aren't worth the time with us who use screan > readers unless the toolbar is textbased only which unless you customise > one > it can't be. [JAWS-Users] blind users be aware of, DAB, Download excerator
Hi everyone download exselirator is another program that isn't blind friendly well the newest version isn't anyway I've managed about a week ago to install it but when it came to using it it was a pain, and when I tried to uninstall it the program wouldn't go, I tried uninstalling it from add/remove programs, uninstall from the programs start all programs main menu and still it didn't go in the end I had to format to get rid of it so be aware of it it goes by the letters, DAB, for those who are using screan readers and it reads that as one whole word the letters are, D, A, B. speak to you later from John and guide dog Iris --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: http://www.jaws-users.com Address for the list archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/jaws-users-list%40googlegroups.com/ In order to contact the management team simply fill out the following form found at: http://www.jaws-users.com/contact.php You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "JAWS Users List" group. [JAWS-Users] Re: Downloading Adobe Help
I need some clearification regarding this and macro media flash player. The Adobe is strictly for reading PDF files? The player for listening to something on a web site..video or music? Now, is both items bundled together or seperate programs? Does one need to have one to have the other to work? [JAWS-Users] Re: alphabetizing a folder
Hi Becky you have to do the following: go in to the folder that you want to alphabeticalise now go to the view menu now your looking for an option that says arrange icons by: and you have to press enter on that or right arrow on that and it will take you to another list of different ways to arrange your folder arrow down the list your probably find it's already alphabeticallised the list but it's done it the other way so you press enter on, Name, if it already says Name checked, this means knowing you've already found it's in order but the other way round then pressing enter on Name even if it is already selected will take you back in to the folder and your find it would of put it the way you want it with numbers at the top followed by a and so on. it's almost the same way to do it with every folder except ZIP folders but I won't go in to that here speak to you later from John and guide dog Iris MSN and E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Original Message - From: "Becky Buckner" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Tuesday, March 27, 2007 4:40 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] alphabetizing a folder > > Hi all. > I have a folder that has gotten turned around and the first item in the > folder starts with a "Z." [JAWS-Users] Message to the person who has troubles with Jaws and the termernation of how to stop or hange processes
Hi it's John R> here if you want to do that you do the following: Enter Task manager: do this by: Holding together, Alt, CTRL, and Del, the Del key is found on the standard windows keyboard, on the keybad directly under the keypad 3 key. now only press these once and you will be taken in to the task manager. Now you are in the task manager. There are lots of pages in this window but the one you want is called, Processes, I find it easier doing it the following way as it's the second page. your probably come in on the Applications page, if so you will find any programs you are running at the current time you are working. now finding that you are in one of the pages, and you've not tabbed around, do the following: Shift Tab, these keys are together. this will take you on to a left/right tab list don't tab arrow across left or right until you hear the processes page it will say, Processes Tab. now you hit tab this will take you in to the page where you want to go. do what you need to do in there but be careful as if you turn off a computer starting process then you may have bad side effects as I've been there and done it so I know. when your finished in there just go to OK and yes for saving changes. and the easyist and quickest way to get out of there is, Press together, Alt and Function key 4 (F4 key, on the top row. this will quickly exit the program of Task manager. remember when you are exiting if it says something like, save changes to task manager? you say, yes if you've made changes to be saved and no of course if your just exploring and you don't want to mess up any settings speak to you later from John and guide dog Iris --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: http://www.jaws-users.com Address for the list archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/jaws-users-list%40googlegroups.com/ In order to contact the management team simply fill out the following form found at: http://www.jaws-users.com/contact.php You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "JAWS Users List" group. [JAWS-Users] Re: Downloading Adobe Help
Downloading and installing adobe reader 8 Go to the below link: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep3.html?option=full&order=1&type=&language=English&platform=WinXPSP2&esdcanbeused=1&esdcanhandle=0&hasjavascript=1&getsconly=1&getgtb=1&x=0&y=0 Once the website loads, tap the letter X two times to move to the check box that says (free Google Toolbar) and tap the space bar to uncheck it. This will insure that you don't inadvertently download this annoying Toolbar. You then need to tap the letter B two times or until you move to the (download Adobe Reader button) and then tap enter to start the download process. If you hear a blupey sound, this means that the program is being blocked and you will need to hold down Alt and tap the letter N. then tap your applications key, down arrow to install and enter. This will tell your computer that it is OK to download the program. You then will receive a message asking if you would like to run or save this file. Up-arrow to run and enter. The download process will start. It may take a few minutes to download. When it is dun, you will be placed on a install now button, tap enter on this button. You now will be placed on a next button, tap enter on this button. You now will be placed on another install button, enter on this button. Now just sit back and let it take care of it's self. When it has finished installing, you will be placed on a finish button. Just enter on this button to complete the install. Keep in mind at any time you would like to repeat the last prompt spoken, just use the JAWS repeat command insert plus tab. Now you will need to set up the program. The license agreement will pop up. Shift tab back to the except button and tap enter. Now an accessibility option screen will pop up, tab once to (use recommended settings and skip setup button) and then tap enter. Now all you need to do is use alt plus F4 to close the program and the next time you receive a .PDF file you should be able to open it. - Original Message - From: "Patricia" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Monday, March 26, 2007 10:44 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Re: Downloading Adobe Help Thanks. [JAWS-Users] Re: Google toolbar within IE7.
Another alternative is to uninstall it altogether via add/remove in Control panel. I had it on briefly, but found it got in the way of my Internet radio listening pleasure, so removed it. - Original Message - From: "Victor Gouveia" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Tuesday, March 27, 2007 4:51 AM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Re: Google toolbar within IE7. Hi Reese, You can manage the Google toolbar by going to your tools menu, then arrow down to manage add-ons. The Google bar should be in there somewhere. I can't help you any further than this as I don't have that bar installed, but I'm sure there's no shortage of people here that have had to deal with this same problem. [JAWS-Users] Re: Jaws and backgroiund porcess
Well first of all you can look in your system tray to see what's running in there and decide if there's anything you really don't need going on. Rick posted excelant instructions last night on this very subject in fact. If you don't have it check the archives link at the bottom of any and all messages posted to the list. The first thing that I can think of is,did you turn your computer off then turn it back on? Sometimes that might fix it.
