Hi all,
Someone assured me on another list that the Braille display I'll be
using, the BrailleNote, will come up as soon as JAWS loads, i.e. I'll
feel the Braille as soon as JAWS loads. However, I do recall that this
is not the case with all displays, for example the Alva Satellite series
of
All,
In the past month the membership to both lists has grown, causing the
management team
to take a closer look at general list operation.
A couple of items have come to the attention of the management team
and this applies to both the blind-computing, and jaws-users lists.

I believe you are correct regarding rebooting your system after a fresh
install, but it might not be a bad practice to check from time to time and
see if they did update the video intercept as well.

Hi folks,
While using Jaws 8.2173 in Excel I found that Jaws didn't
announce nearly as much information when using either
insert+F or insert+tab twice quickly as Jaws 7 did.
for example in Jaws 7 insert+F would yield cell height along
with alignment and text position information. In jaws
Hi John,
Care to elaborate?
One letter, and one word was kind of vague. smile

Using JAWS8.2173, when I hit Insert+f twice quickly I got all of the cell
font, height and points information. Pressing Insert+f once gave just the
font information.

Rick,
I'm sorry about that last message.
My question,is why would a person want to keep their numbpad on or off?
Or have it done automatically?

Hi, I
Also, what embosser? (If it's an Index, he could be getting WinBraille
translation software which is included with it.) In all likelihood, it will
work with JAWS. Otherwise, WinTrans, an NFBTrans derivative - works with
JAWS as does the NFBtrans program itself.

David,
What would be nice if this program can turn on the number pad key
automatically when you go into Excel and turn it off when you exit
the software. At the same time, you can turn it off and on manually.
It would even be nicer if you can set up which program you can turn
it on
I have WinBraille on my system as I have an Index embosser, and it works
with JAWS 8.0.423 demo with no known problems or issues. Hope that
helps.

Hi Arianna,
David will confirm this ,
That's a bit beyond my capability at this time, in fact the visual basic
scripts are as well unfortunately. Soon as time and schedules click I'll
talk with the script author about these things. There are some other such
files on here along with a few registry key files too that I need to review
Thanks, David. I knew that I was asking too much. One can dream and
hope that some wiz of a programmer can take this idea and make it
work some day?

Not really a good practice on lists run by the mailman program. You see it
doesn't like being blind carbon copied very much. What happens then is we
receive a held posting notice for which we need to make a decision about.

hey all. Earlier vertions of jaws had a keystroke that told you who
signed in last on windows live messenger. this doesnt work anymore with
the latest vertion of jaws.
I was wondering if there is another keystroke that anounces who signed
in last on windows live?

I'm not using Winamp currently, but when I use the back and forward
buttons on my laptop, JAWS will say g or j or q. . The letter j when
on the internet is a hot key to jump to a certain line. Maybe for some
reason JAWS is acting like you are on the net. Try using the hot keys

I don't often use adobe Acrobat, but should I avoid the prompt to
upgrade to 8.1? Does anybody know how it performs with JAWS? I'm not
