Hi,
the display mostlikely uses an ftdi usb2serial adaptor. Maybe this device
driver has to be installed prior to the jlb file which contains the jaws
driver.
At least that is the case with my Papenmeier display and I no that Handytech
used ftdi usb2serial for a long time as well.

I took my first look at this email client the other day and although it is

Hi,
You have another braille display installed? (It might be trying to act
as the default. Select the HandyTech in braille Options, then restart.)
Can you not change the com port in use - to, say, com4 - by arrowing to
it and then proceeding through the dialogue?

Hi David,
Of course, it was my first try, but in this way jaws doesn't allow to
choose USB as a port for the device.
It happens even I install the driver from the EasyBraille CD shipped

So I'm looking for an advice how to solve this manualy.

You may have figured this out already, but I discovered something helpful

Often, when I am spell checking JAWS will not read the text in the

Hello,
I try to install new Handytech EasyBraille HID Braille display under
jaws10 but no luck.
I start the jaws driver from the EasyBraille CD but the installation
process can't finish because jaws crashes every time after the
installation.

Just go to all programs and click Jaws then click tools then click
uninstall.
Also you can go to the control panel to add and remove programs.

I know this has come up before, but, if they allowed one to use the control

version of jfw.
So, if someone would kindly give me the steps to uninstall version 10, I'd
appreciate it.

I honestly don't know, as I run 32-bit here and don't have access to 640bit.
That's an interesting question though.

Maybe you should try reinstalling ESpeak. I've used it before, and it's
pretty responsive, even though I personally am not really a fan of it. It's
not bad for a SAPI synth.

I wish to try ESpeak SAPI5 with the latest JAWS 11. I went into voice
adjustment, tabbed to the voice person combo box, but all I could select
was Microsoft Anna, yet another screen reader can see ESpeak fine! I
just want to see how responsive it works with JAWS. By the way, this is

This was intentional. The changes we made to address the issuses that were
