I am getting a new computer and my old one is 9 years old what I was thinking
of doing is to turn the old one into a Jukebox for music. but I have very
little room and don't want to buy another screen since my screen is only 6
months old. how can I run it with out a screen I have tried this a
I think there is an adapter plug for laptops that plugs into the

I do not have a downloads folder on my desktop by default, so your friend
may not either.
In Windows 7 just hit the Windows key. In the edit box type downloads and
hit enter. That will open the downloads folder.
On my Windows 7 computer the path to the folder is:
c:\users\my
you can also get a keyboard monitor switch and share the monitor and
- if desired - a keyboard between both computers.

It may not show, but the folder is there under the name given to the

After finding this down load folder I simply pointed to it and pressed
the applacations key and arrowed to create shortcut and the folder was moved
to my Desk top and I then created a short cut key for same and it works well
that way.

My computer is named so cleverly David and under there is a list of folders
which includes one named download.

Hey Gang,
I'm running XP, and jaws V13.628.
I want to shut off some of the things in research it.
This is what I've done
1, Insert 6
2, ctrl shift D
3, right arrow on research it
4, I only have one thing in there, configure lookup
5, When I press enter on it, it puts me back on the desktop.
So
Open research it. Hit alt p for options. You can then choose which search
options show up when using Research It.

I have already begun to prefer opening things with the Windows key search
box rather than having a cluttered desktop. I know it is easy enough for
people to add icons to their desktop, but I am glad we have multiple ways of
doing the same thing so we can each choose the method that we prefer.
Hi Glenn,
Just to keep things straight,
when you create a shortcut to the Desktop, or anywhere on the computer, it
does not move the item.
A shortcut is a pointer to a specific item on the computer,
whether it is a file, folder etc.

Hi John,
Just pickup a KVM switch, that will allow you to control your computers with
one keyboard, mouse, and monitor.
The advantage of this is, if you have a problem on your music machine, you
can have someone read the monitor if need be.
You can find one at Tiger Direct for around $20.
HTH,
Hi Patti,
After you right arrow to open Research It, arrow down to configure lookup,
don't press enter, press the spacebar to open this! Hope this helped. Take
care.

So far as I know it is working fine. I grant you it's been quite some time
since anybody has tried to use it but nobody has said anything.

I don't write them, I only post them and often times I don't since they some
times do not apply to our particular needs. Then again some times I mess up
and post nothing. I think Dan is right and I should take a vacation.
