Hi All,
First, I'm running XP Jaws 10 thru 13. I have several thousand .EML files
I would like to convert to .TXT or .DOC files. Does anyone know where I can
get a converter that is Jaws accessible, that can do this job? All help
will be greatly appreciated. Thanks much, take care.
Mike
I'd like to know that as well, mainly because I'm a curious kind of a guy.

download, so maybe there are two different installs? Lol, I should get my
facts straight before posting and looking stupid haha. I'm gunna go

Just out of curiosity, does Freedom Scientific products ie.e., JAWS, etc. work
predominantly with Microsoft applications, or are there other software
appllications that work with JAWS? As I said, I am curious. Thanks. Jerry

Hi all,
How can I select the contents of a entire Workbook in Excel 2007 with JAWS 12?
My Excel Workbook has around 20 Worksheets of data. I want to make sure I
select all cells in the workbook, so I can do some
formatting changes and have the updated formatting be consistent.
Thank you,
Hi david, David, Flor, Kimsan, TJ,
I found a converter at the link below.

I believe that David Kimsan also suggested this same website. It appears
that this website offers several programs for converting files. I

HI,
I looked this up on the internet and found the following:
If you rename a .eml file to .txt then you can use notepad and the like to
view the contents. they are only typed as .eml so that windows will use a
browser to view their contents.
I tried this and found that it does indeed work.
Hi Dan,
This would help out a lot. but, I don't know / understand the command prompt
stuff or how to issue a CD command. I guess this is for the more educated
computer user. If this is something that could be explained without taking
up too much of your time, would you please explain it to
Hi Mike,
Actually, this is info that old keyboard jockeys would understand mostly. I
forget sometimes that younger/newer computer users haven't had to rely on
the keyboard as much as some of us old guys had to years ago.
Let me put some thought into it and see if I can figure a way to do this
Hi Dan,
If you explained it using the Command Prompt, that might give us less
experienced computer abusers a better understanding of how the computer
works or, show us different ways of doing tasks', like converting files,
that we wouldn't have known. Thanks again, take care.

First put your files in an easy location for you to find while in the
command window such as in a directory on the root of your drive for example
called messages.
Second open the command prompt from the run dialog by typing CMD and hitting
enter.
Third type CD\messages and hit enter.
Maybe just copy the original to a different place and rename it?

Hi Ann.
Responding to your message as below, I'm sorry to trouble you further , but
my problem persists.
Your suggestion certainly works in Jaws 12. However, when I

Hi, Barry,
In JAWS 13.0.638 what I do is
1. Press insert-v for quick settings; JAWS says Quick settings Excel
dialog, search box, edit.
2. Tab once. JAWS says Excel settings, open, 8 items.
3. Arrow down once, JAWS says, formatting open, one item.
4. Press the letter 't' twice. Now I'm in
Dear Bill,
Here are the steps to select all of the sheets in a spreadsheet.
1. Hold down the Insert, Shift, and S keys all at the same time
2. After releasing those keys, a context box will open
3. Press S to select all sheets
Hopefully this helps.
Sincerely,

Hi Dan,
After reading this message a little closer , I don't want to just change the
.EML file extension to a .TXT file extension. I want to convert the .EML
files to either .DOC or .TXT files. I don't want to have to weed through
all that extraneous HTML crap to find the hidden message. I

Hi Steve,
Thank you for your reply. I do understand what you're saying but, take a

Hi David,
Thank you very much for these steps but, won't doing these steps just change
all the .EML file extensions to .TXT file extentions not convert the files

them to the .TXT file extension you wouldn't believe all
