Outlook Express was not designed to be run on anything past XP. Therefore it
is not going to be supported by FS on a later version of windows.

Have you tried to run a repair on WLM? I am using Windows 7 Home Premium on
one PC and Windows 8.1 on another, I do not experience this problem. I am
running WLM 2012, or version16 in other words. Maybe you should upgrade.

There is the mail app, which works with other screen readers, if you know

I don't use Windows 8 myself, thank goodness, but my understanding is that
it comes with an email client called simply Mail. However, it is supposedly
not compatible with POP3, so for most users, it would be useless. Thanks,
Microsoft.

In the control panel under programs and features, locate the program. Take
the route that you would use to uninstall a program and in that dialog will
be an option to repair wlm.

Simon,
Go to Control Panel, Programs and Features, just like you were going to
uninstall the program. Find the item Windows Live Essentials, and press
Enter on it. You will then be presented with the options to either uninstall
or repair. Press Enter on repair, and follow any instructions
