Hello,
Has anyone tried out the DecTalk Access32 software available from
Maxiaids with JAWS16 on a windows7 64 bit machine? I am considering
this synthesizer; however, I want to know if it works.
Thanks in advance for any responses

Hello,
I have just resolved an issue where JAWS was not reading the contents of a
cell.
I am using Windows 7, Excel 2010 and the latest version of JAWS 16.
In my spreadsheet, column C and D contain dollar amounts.
When I was moving left to column C, JAWS was reading the cell contents
Tim,
I think the lady was pointing out earlier that not everyone has Open Book
due to its relatively high purchase cost.
For the record, I'm with you regarding the Freedom Import Printer. It
should work as advertised but quite often, there are indeed problems with
it.
JOHN AND LINDA JUSTICE
Trish,
If you have Open Book or Kurzweil Reader on your system, you can try
importing it that way. Before Jaws 15 and 16, that was how I managed to
read those imaged .pdf files.

Nope. JAWS 15 does not have the extra feature to specifically OCR on PDF
files in Adobe. Need JAWS 16 to use the D command in Convenient OCR. And
it works very well.

Hello,
In Word the CTRL with enter key inserts a page break. The shift key with
enter key moves the cursor down a line without using a paragraph mark. This
is helpful in a list style when using automatic bulleted or numbered lists
and when you don't want to insert a bullet or number when

Hi
I doubt it. The description does not mention JAWS, which makes me think
that this is the Dectalk Access32 that used to be marketed by GW Micro for
Window Eyes. I had heard that JAWS would no longer allow the use of that
version as of version 11 or 12. I did see something on the old GW Micro

NO,. what Dave is talking about is new. Heretofore, it just showed text on
screen, and you couldn't dump it into a word processor or text editor as you
can now. For instance, you can take a document into Word, clean up any OCR
errors, and save it in any of the available Word formats,
Using excel 2007, windows 8.1 and jaws 14 this began on Monday. I put a value
such as 200 in a cell but jaws says 4 jan or some other date bbut the total at
bottom of the column is correct.

Hello Dwight,
To change the format of a cell to a number without a decimal point you can use
CTRL+Shift+Tilde. You might need to use the JAWS pass through command first,
which is the JAWS key with the number 3. (Use the number three that is above
the E and not the one on the number pad).
A client of mine keeps getting this error when she enters a tandem code, and
then tandem aborts. I have written tech support already but I figured while I
wait I would ask on here to see if anybody ever experienced the same problem.

Jorge,
If you mean, is the new font size only temporary using Ctrl + left /
right square brackets, the answer is no, provided of course you save the
document.

No, Trish, J15 does not have the document OCR recognition. It only has
convenient OCR, but it will not recognize image-protected OCR; that is one
of the nice things with J16. I just needed it last night for an OCR
document that I opened from an on-line site.
