I presume you're talking about the latest incarnations from Nuance. The very
simplest way to try them is install from the disk. Just choose the ones you'd
like to fool with; installation is automatic. They've evolved pretty well over

In redesigning 8.1, Microsoft did something for which it hasn't been exactly
famous--it listened to consumers and gave them what they asked for, rather than
what Ms thought they should have. I'm hopeful the same philosophy is being
applied in 10.

Don't expect too much. What Narrator lacks is the high degree of user control
to which you are probably accustomed. The three screen readers I have used
over the past 30 years are as close as one will ever come to hands-on reading
the old-fashioned way.

I am just a very simple computer user. This is the worst upgrade Jaws have

I'm continuing my switch over to firefox. I'm tired of being on ie, coming

How do I stop jaws from announcement of clickable every time I press down

Hi Again Dave,
Have you tried removing / uninstalling reinstalling Firefox with the
latest version? Maybe you had a bad install the last time. I've installed
Firefox several times never had what's happening to you happen to me.
Hopefully someone that's had a similar experience as yourself
Mike,
Okay, thanks for that tip. Now here's something that's really bugged me
about Firefox. It only takes one or two presses of the Escape key to shut
down Firefox. This does not happen in any other programs or windows
applications -- only Firefox. How do I get Firefox to stop being so
Hi Dave,
I have no idea how or why that is happening to you. I've never hadFirefox
close using the escape button / key.
Take care.

I guess my info must be correct. I'm told the Ms site knows to download the
appropriate version, when you check in. My only try here at work netted me a
32-bit version. Wish they'd go ahead and release the new and improved Defender
that's supposed to ship with 10.

I'm curious; is that 32- or 64-bit. I saw that app bring JAWS to its knees
