Hi Brian,
Yes, I renamed the normal.dotm template, and also did a repair on Office
365. I tried changing the footer style, but it wouldn't accept a change that
way from within the edit field of the style. I was able to change its font
size, so changes can be made, though.
You guys have given
Hello again Jean,
Another thought is that if some of the styles are messed up, they are based on
the normal template. You could rename the normal.dotm file and restart Word.
The normal.dotm template should be created by Word and this might cause the
styles to work correctly. However, you hav
Hi Jean,
JAWS should be letting you know that the colors are black on white and not
black on black for the footer style. At least with my installation of word the
footer style is pretty much the same as the normal style. Being that this has
happened when you use JAWS 17 and JAWS 18, it would
Thanks, Mike. The ribbons appear to be maximized. I hear the option to
collapse them, so they must be okay. Good thought, though. Thanks.

Hi Jean,
Make sure the ribbons are maximized.
To navigate ribbons more efficiently the ribbons need to be maximized. The
keystroke is, control + F1. This keystroke is a toggle so, this keystroke
will maximize & minimize. To check if the ribbons are minimized / maximized
do the following:

Hi all,
Some small progress. I have found that if the Jaws virtual ribbon is
enabled, I can't access any of the Footer ribbons. So, with it off, I can at
least tab through the design choices, finding the areas for unlinking, etc.

Hi Brian,
Excellent description, and I know that's how it should work. But no matter
what I do, I can't read any of the text I'm entering, have entered, or am
wanting to edit. Insert-F tells me the footer style text is black on black.
That shouldn't matter, I don't think.

Hi Jason,
I have now upgraded to Jaws 18, but I am not getting the results you get. I
can get to the footer area in both ways as you describe. Once in the footer
edit area, text is not spoken as I type, and nothing is readable in the
field.
Then if I exit the footer dialogue and use insert-F
Hello,
Here is some additional information on creating footers. I am using Word 2013

and footer group of the insert menu and under the design tab which is added as
I'm trying to test this with JAWS 18, Windows 10 and Word 2016.
I can edit a footer by typing Alt+N, O, E. Alternatively, I can work my way
through the Insert tab of the ribbon to find this command (Insert -> Footer ->
Edit Footer).
At this point (having invoked the above command), I'm in a foote
Hi both.

Best wishes,
adam.

Hi Adam,
I do not know if there is a better way to do this, but here is what I do
when I want to create a signature in Outlook, and how I manage them.
I either open a new e-mail message or a Word doc.
Type in all of the information I want to include in my signature. This

want to include contact details at the end of the message but, as far
as I can tell, I can only include my name. Ideally I would li
