Using an ASUS laptop with Jaws 2018 and windows 10.
There seems to be a delay with Jaws when carrying out any process. For instance
if I use alt f4 command Jaws just says 4, when starting to type Jaws will not

Wow! That actually did work. I now have a fully functioning F12 key again.
Thanks for all the help with this everyone. Perhaps I will come across the
message regarding function key + escape. What is that key combination for?
Is it supposed to be a toggle or what?

No! I probably would have been better off doing a JAWS repair rather than
inadvertently doing a system repair. Thanks for the suggestion. The problem
however is now fixed.

Hi Lenny,
This is how I would do it:
1. Zip the file and place it in the Dropbox folder.
2. Highlight the file, open the context menu using the applications key or
Shift + F10, arrow down to, Copy Dropbox Link, and press enter. This will
paste a Dropbox link to your clipboard.
3. Create a new
Hi Andy,
Here are 2 ways of doing this:
#1:
Press, Alt+ F, then press, T, to open Word options. You'll be in a list of
categories. Arrow down once to
display. Then tab right and you'll eventually come across various formatting
options to
uncheck, including tabs, spaces, and then paragraph
Thank you for this, I found it very helpful. I have saved it for the next
time this happenes.
Take care

I had this occur a while back. If I am not mistaken it has to do with the
layout option.

Mike,
This second method no longer works in Word 2016, and Brian Lee indicated it
doesn't in 2013. It used to work in 2003. I don't know when it ceased working.

Hi Adrian,
Thanks for the heads up. The, control, shift, + 8, toggle keystroke used to
work in Word 2010, but not anymore. I don't know when this changed, but it
surely did. Thanks again.
Take care. Mike. Go Dodgers.

Hi,
Similar to that, does anyone with an Asus laptop have a problem where there's a
little bit of a click noise whenever JAWS says something? It only started for
me with my most recent Win10 update, but it's very annoying. Think a driver
reinstall might fix that too?

I had this problem right after updating to the 1803 version of Windows but a
simple shut down and boot up stopped the behavior. Don't know if it will
work for you or if you have updated so it might not help.

For those with Asus computers with Jaws delay. I had the same problem with
my Asus laptop. I had Microsoft reload the latest speaker/sound drivers and
it took care of the problem. However, each time there is a Windows update,
the delay re-occurs and so you have to reload the drivers again.
