The last version of Jaws to work with XP is Jaws 15.
Take care.

The Route JAWS to PC keystroke is, Insert or JAWSKey Insert plus
NumPadMinus; no ctrl key. (With the ctrl key, it's drag-and-drop - a whole
other ball game.) However, it doesn't have the desired effect on Web pages -
at least, in my experience of a sighted user trying to read what I was
I beg to differ, but on web pages pressing insert plus control plus
numpad minus turns on JAWS cursor follows PC cursor.

Pardon me,
The information you shared was incorrect.
Control + Insert + Numpad Minus
Is indeed the way to toggle tethering of the JAWS cursor to PC
Try it yourself
Drag N Drop is
Control + Insert + Left Mouse Button

Actually, try it yourself

On the other JAWS user's list, we have been discussing how to get better
help from the sighted, when needed, while browsing with JAWS. It has
been stated many times over, that under normal settings, sighted people
mostly can't tell where we are on a web page.
Two suggested remedies mentioned
Drag and drop, according to the search command feature on JAWS 17 is
invoked with the control plus insert plus numpad slash.

Hi Flor,
The, control, insert / jaws key, + Jaws cursor / Numpad minus key toggles
the Jaws cursor to follow the PC cursor.
Control, Insert, + Numpad slash is the drag & drop keystroke.
Take care.

Hello and welcome to the JAWS Users list. This list has been created for The
purpose of discussing all aspects of the JAWS for Windows screen reader
Program.
So everything that pertains to JAWS is fair game. Such as asking about what
software packages work well with JAWS or how to make them work
I guess a trip to the FS website would eliminate any doubt. smile

I do believe it is JAWS 16.
Naturally if I am found to be wrong I wish somebody will point that out.
JAWS does not have a version that will work with 64 bit XP. In fact if
memory serves no screen reader that I know of supports that platform.

Hi listers,
I'm using Jaws 16.0.4468 with MS Word 2010. I am spell checking a document,
and when I find a spelling error, I hear:
Spelling and Grammar English (US)
then the misspelled word
then spelling and Grammar English (US)
then blank where the correctly spelled word would be spoken
You will stop getting e-mails from the list. Neil
