Re: [JAWS-Users] monitoring credit
Hi Gerald, The FICO score is one overall credit score that accounts for your individual scores across the three Credit Bureaus and is used by lenders most often to evaluate your credit worthiness. If you have one, most major bank credit cards like Citi, Barclays, Chase, etc. have your FICO score as of the last time they checked. It's usually accessible via your online statement sight, call customer service if access is not obvious. Some check monthly with each statement period and others update every 2 or 3 months. Re: [JAWS-Users] linked in
Hi Justin, What are you wanting to do on LinkedIn? I use it all the time and admit the learning curve can be significant but that's true of most tools new to us. The more powerful the more complex and more to learn. The bright spot is that once the profile was set up, I tend to regularly use only a handful of functions. So, mastery of a few of the most useful functions is doable. Use "H' to move the mostly self-explanatory headings and familiarize yourself with the content under those that you think you want to use. Hello, Even though I do like how well JAWS v17 works with the default Mail app for Windows 10, I still gave the Windows Live Mail application a try. It seems to work even better with JAWS, and offers a whole lot more bells and whistles (News reader, Podcast and RSS feeds etc.). Are there any FS (Or user) tutorials out there giving tips on how to interact with WLM using JAWS? Maybe a list of all available keyboard shortcuts. One of the things I did like with the default mail app is that it gave you the number of replies for a particular thread in the subject line. WLM doesn’t seem to do that. Is there a way of enabling this? Also does WLM offer a message view pain. Meaning as you arrow through the list of message subjects, a portion of the associated message body will be shown in a view window pain. If WLM does offer such a feature, how do I turn it on. I’m very surprised that MS stop development on WLM for it seems to be much more advanced then the new Mail app they’ve replaced it with. Thanks for any help. Hi Daniel, I assume that GTM operates similarly to Go To Webinar by the same company. I've attended numerous GTW sessions and the sound automatically appeared when the code to join the event was entered on the first screen. The features that I have not been able to access are the message box, in which you can type a question or comment to the webinar moderator; and , the polling feature, in which the moderator asks you to respond to questions visible on the screen. The features that I have not been able to access are the message box, in which you can type a question or comment to the webinar moderator; and , the polling feature, in which the moderator asks you to respond to questions visible on the screen. Hi Brent, Check with your VR Counselor to see if it's possible to send an Assistive Technology Specialist to your new workplace when you start the new job. They will help you to evaluate, select and integrate available tech (including jaws and phone systems) for you to most effectively do the work. I have a job prospect that might come through where I'd need to take calls, and if they use a software phone instead, I'm not sure what one would need to adapt a desk phone connection as on this thing to a sound card connection computers use. One guy at Plantronics suggested it might work, but because the amp part couldn't be used doing it this way, one might get weak mic audio or none at all because the mic in it needs adequate power. Since custom order stuff is usually unreturnable, what would I tell VR to get so I don't waste their money on something that has a chance of not working? - Original Message - From: "Boston, Jason W"To: Sent: Friday, November 20, 2015 8:12 AM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] JFW and balance of sound for headsets > Scorpio, > I actually tried to do the balance for each device. Re: [JAWS-Users] Problem completing a privacy agreement screen on an HR portal commonly used in job applications
Hi folks, It was a good approach to try multiple browsers to give Jaws a chance to work. sometimes that solves it. I consult with job applicants and companies on challenges regarding access to employment and commerce . As far as online job applications go, you have nothing to lose by bringing it to the organization's attention and requesting a reasonable accommodation that will make it possible for you to apply and test for the position.. If companies or government entities are not adequately responsive to your access needs the US Dept. of Justice recently launched a new online complaint form, see announcement and link below: The Department of Justice is pleased to announce that, as of today, individuals wishing to file ADA complaints with the Department will be able to fill out the form and submit it completely electronically. Filers will also immediately receive a reference number that can be used whenever contacting the Department about that complaint. I managed to get one of them to work with NVDA once. I was lucky enough to not have switched everything over as I was hoping to do, and you could probably transfer money in to get it at a machine later with the fee reimbursements, but the online access became not worth the trouble. - Original Message - From: Shane Hecker shanehec...@gmail.com To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Tuesday, August 18, 2015 9:37 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Problem completing a privacy agreement screen on an HR portal commonly used in job applications This is not specifically related to your problem, but it is similar enough. I feel your pain. The ISP in my area has a site where you can make updates to your account, change payment information, and so on. The problem with the site is that at the bottom of the page where the changes are made, there is a check box that says I accept the terms and conditions. Only one problem, Jaws does not see this as a check box. Hitting space bar or enter does absolutely nothing. I spent 20 minutes using IE and Firefox trying to check that stupid box after updating credit card information. It took using the OCR function and making a guess as to where to click to finally get that box checked. I had to take a trip to the cable company today to turn in a couple boxes, and I let them have it. I wasn't rude, but flat out told them that their site was a pain to work with. All that to say it might be worth contacting the people who run the site and see what they can do. Now whether it will do any good is another story, but it can't hurt to try.
